Rodri

I knew when everyone was saying how there were no Real players in the Spain squad that they’d just buy a few.
 
Mourinho knows this is his last chance. You put Rodri in a midfield for a big game and you have a massive advantage.

For someone needing to win, he should be his top priority.
 
Would be interesting what his impact will be at Real. I know he has to get surgery and therefore might miss some time and that can be used as a reason if he doesn't play well but I don't think it's obvious for a player to transition to a new league and team and succeed immediately.

He won't exactly be going there being unfamiliar with the league though tbf to him.

Already shown to be quality there to earn his move to City in the first place, I suspect he'll show his class once again quite quickly when he's back on the pitch for them
 
Losing Pep, Bernardo, Stones (although he spent a lot of time injured), and Rodri all at once is just too much. I can't see City challenging for the title next season if this happens. It's simply too many major losses at the same time.
 
He'll be excellent at Madrid. Wondering how they're gonna fit all the midfielders in, Rodri, Valverde and Jude has to play surely, unless Jose gonna bench Trent for Valverde. Could be a long season for Bernardo who might have got James Trafforded.

No problem. If they've fallen behind by Christmas they'll throw another £200m at the problem. Rinse repeat

I really think Valverde will be a RW. Jose almost always likes to have one hard working winger that offsets his lazy superstar on the other side and in this case he may be trying to offset two lazy superstars.

I think the front six when everybody is available will look like this, with Rodri's partner in central defense dependent on matchups and form (and on who stays).

Mourinho has already said he wants to use endrick on right wing. Guler will get plenty of game time as he's a superb talent. Probably off that right wing as well. Mourinho doesn't rate Camavinga and is willing to let him go, but camvinga doesn't want to leave.

It's an embarrassment of riches.

I can see camvinga being forced out by not being registered for the champions league squad of some other tactic. He's the most expendable of the bunch.

Hopefully it'll be similar to our 2013 where we lost Fergie and David Gill in the same summer.

Sounds like sweet talk to keep them around just in case. Garcia and Endrick could be playing 90 minutes every week somewhere on loan but they will be kept in for depth and some minutes here and there.
 
If he’s healthy I think this could transform them defensively. They certainly need something.

It’s funny United buy Casemiro at 30 after some of the best form of his career for 60m ‘why do we always buy over the hill players?’ Madrid buying Rodri at 30 for 60m ‘fantastic signing’.
 
He looked great in the world cup - just looks impossible to get the ball off him in midfield.

Be a huge loss for City.
