in that he’s more of a cheat than a cnut?He suits Barca way more than Real Madrid anyway.

Thought he finished the season well for City no?
As to international football, he looked brilliant for Spain but I reckon I would have been passable with that team around me. Such a balanced team with everyone working perfectly together. Its a much slower and more open game in international football in general. Even if he is losing something vs a few years ago he will be fine in Spain.

Does he actually want to move to Barca? He suits Barca way more than Real Madrid anyway.
Madrid are so tight. If Bruno G went for £75 mil....
Oh no this would mean no Camavinga or TchouaDoes he actually want to move to Barca?
I think his priority is to return to Spain. Real Madrid is probably his preferred destination, but it seems that several of his teammates in the national team have been encouraging him to join Barcelona.Does he actually want to move to Barca?
Strange given he’s exactly what you need.I think his priority is to return to Spain. Real Madrid is probably his preferred destination, but it seems that several of his teammates in the national team have been encouraging him to join Barcelona.
As for Madrid, I'm still not convinced their interest is entirely genuine. Maybe after the public pressure following the World Cup, they may have felt compelled to signal their interest, but now it looks like they're starting to backtrack.
Same. We're keen La Liga watchers in our house but last season was one shit season too far and we lost interest after Real threw their lead at the top away.Hope he goes to Madrid. I want to see a good title race to bring La Liga back to life. It’s been a bit shit late and Rodri to Barca would widen that gap. Madrid’s midfield is not great.

But also he's 30 and only now getting back to his best after a bad injuryRidiculous really, they didn't really need Diomande and Rodri would have transformed their team, they've shown they have money.
I find midfielders get a ridiculously hard time after they hit about 28 or 29 onwards every time they have a bad run of form, Casemiro was declared finished several times and then he was having some of his best games for the club at 34. Rodri wasn't quite as good as his Ballon d'Or level but I don't think he ever looked finished and City always looked better when he was in the team than when he wasn't, even when not fully fit.Bit of a strange one as he looked very finished as a top level PL player last season, so these big fees would have looked like amazing business for city at the time. But after his WC performances, he looks again like he’d be a big loss. I do wonder if the pace of the league may have caught up with him, maybe.
Modric was winning Madrid's player of the season at 36, Kroos was their best midfielder at 34. Yes he could be done by then but also he could be world-class for 4-5 more years. Considering Casemiro was sold for £60m then you'd think £60m for Rodri would be fair. But also he's 30 and only now getting back to his best after a bad injury
50 seems fair enough considering he could be done by 33
On social media, especially among the club's "officialists" - the ones who always seem to echo the board's line- Rodri is being heavily downplayed.Strange given he’s exactly what you need.
I don’t really care who spends what. Just saying that as neutral Madrid need to catch up especially in midfield. They have muscle, legs and bite but lack playmakers. But also he's 30 and only now getting back to his best after a bad injury

I have very little hope for this club as long as Florentino remains in charge
The modern fan.I know. You have only won 7 Champions League under Perez.
Life must be tough!

Maybe we go all in for Kone now which is fineOh no this would mean no Camavinga or Tchoua
Yes, before he turned 100 years old and lost the plotI know. You have only won 7 Champions League under Perez.

Rodri only has a year left on his contract and is a little bit olderImagine Rodri going for less than Bruno G. Mental.
