I want him to stay but I wouldn't blame him if he left in the summer to join a club that will give him CL football next season (as long as it ain't another English team, of course), so, with that in mind, I've voted no, just can't see him being happy watching Messi still plying his trade in the CL whilst Ronaldo has to settle for Europa League football.

He was our best player this year. He is not the problem. He is a model professional. The others should learn from him and aspire to work as hard as he does.

I don't see how staying protects his legacy. Very much the opposite actually.

We need a clean slate and building towards something. No halfway houses. It's in both parties' best interests that he gets out of the way.

I don't know why Sir Alex is so involved. Love the man but we don't need sentiment ruling our decision making.

Also true. His legacy isn't really being helped by playing in a poor United team. I mean it isn't being hurt either as we set up to help him score but we aren't really in the hunt for trophies which surely is what he cares about right now? Even if ETH does well, it'll take us a good few years before we can get close to the best teams. He'll be near 40 then. Makes sense for both parties imo to part ways unless he's fine with rotating and even then it isn't in HIS interest imo. He could rotate with someone at PSG / elsewhere trying to win trophies.

Exactly this. Until Fergie and his cronies continue to influence things, nothing will change at United.

If he leaves at the end of this season, it’s unfinished business.

He left on such a high last time and has been pined over for 13 years.. so leave on this note, I’m not sure he will want to do that.

Everywhere he goes he leaves when he can do no more, he’s always achieved something.. I do believe he loves this club.. I just don’t know if he’d want to walk away on this ending.

Saying that, Ronaldo in the europa or possibly the conference league... can’t imagine it. I guess it’s something he has never won so may want to give it a shot.

Essentially it's his deep personal relationship with Ronaldo. The man has described Ferguson as his second father. I'm sure Ronaldo would have approached Ferguson initially.

I'd be interested to see how he gets on and is used by ten Hag. I'm sure ten Hag would like to work with him, even at this age.

I'm thinking that maybe losing out on CL football has made Ronaldo's mind up & he wants out & wanted Fergie to be the first to know, now, whether Ronaldo has had an offer from a CL club for next season we just don't know, I think PSG would love to have Messi & Ronaldo in the same team for the first time ever.

It would be a huge boost if he stays, but at this stage of his career, why stay at this circus? He's still an elite player capable of winning trophies. We are a long term project.

I'd like him to go.

He's not the problem and is not the reason we became really really shit, but I do think his presence in this 3rd series of 'Reset' could be a hindrance.

Ten Hag will be better off without him imo. I'd also add Pogba, Varane and Bruno to that list but the latter 2 will obviously be here.

And again I must reiterate it's not because I think he is the core problem. I just don't see how it benefits Ten Hag if the idea is to evolve the team and club.

I want him to stay but would like another striker brought in.

But I don't think he will stay and will push for a move. I don't blame him either.

Although I would love him to stay and be an example to young players, part of me thinks he doesn’t deserve to be part of a squad rebuild that doesn’t include him in it’s long term plans.

Yes, we'd be having half the points without him.
Thats completely unrealistic. You cant just remove a player's goals from the team as if we'd be playing all matches with 10 men. With half the points we would be relegated. It doesn't work like that.

With the way this season panned out, he is literally our only striker and goal scorer? It does work like that

He is our only striker because we have him. If we didn't have him we would get a striker in Jan to stay up, push Bruno up, keep martial etc.
Not saying anyone else would replace his goals, but we cant just act like without him no goals would be scored from CF the whole season.

On paper it would be fine if he was willing to rotate with another striker. But the issue that this will cause problems and ETH will find it hard to get playing possesion pressing footy while Ronaldo manages his effort levels and DDG can't distribute of play the keeper sweeper role. Then there's the fact that he's apparently 20 per cent of our wage bill pr something bonkers like that. Only we can pay that to a 37 year old without being backed by a state and somehow justify it using sentiment.

Yep, it's very silly.

We played more than half of last season with Martial at his worst up top and I don't remember the team being in any danger of getting relegated.

Looks like we have just found a potential club for Ronaldo to join. A team that compete Bundesliga and UCL and also all trophies.

I definitely want him to stay…In a very poor team he has still managed to score 18 goals in the league…In a better team he could have easily scored 25 Plus goals in the league itself.I think that Ronaldo should stay and considering the fact that his main priority is the World Cup this November,I think he will want to keep playing in the PL to keep himself sharp for what could possibly be his last WC….

Ronaldo will have to take a huge pay cut if he goes to Bayern. I'm also not sure Bayern will be willing to pay a fee to United.

This is true but would have left the rest of the team scoring less than they are used to.

I think he will leave and he may be regretting coming back at all. Fergie is wrong. This season has tarnished his legacy, compared to his first stint here.

It's completely up to him, not the other way around. He can walk if he feels there is another CL title to be won.

I don't follow Bayern but aren't they obsessed with transitioning into a pressing team and high energy football?

Probably why they haven't pushed the boat out to renew Lewendowski. So I doubt they'll go for Ronaldo.

Yep can’t see Bayern going for Ronaldo. Won’t be surprised if they end up going for either Nunez from Benfica or Nkunku from Leipzig. Or even target both of them.

I wouldn't mind him leaving only if we land Kane (since the likes of Lewandowski are unreachable).
How on earth do you think a veteran lewandowski is unreachable, yet a Kane who will cost 120m isn't?

Buying Kane would be a disaster for that money. He screams sudden drop off..it's just when.

I think he'll be here because no one is going to pay his wages and it would mean bringing in two forwards. Logistically only makes sense he's stuck here.

When I look at the long term success of the likes of klopp and pep, I think it would be preferable to let ronaldo leave along with many other big characters as we need to create an environment from the get go where there is no mistake of nobody being bigger than ten hag at the club and I can see that potentially being blurred if Ronaldo stays and brings that same unwanted drama and undermining of the manager's power like we saw this season.

Ronaldo is a huge upgrade over Haller. Ten Hag will do well with him as long as we improve the rest of our team.
Watching their last game of the season, I was thinking the same thing. Ten Hag will hopefully fit Ronaldo into the team with great success, although I am more worried about our dysfunctional midfield which Ronaldo is dependent on.

These people who keep on about Ronaldo being some sort of problem, or that we can replace him at the same time we replace half the squad really are something.

They've either spent too long on computer games, or are utterly detached from the job ahead.
