Preparations for the 2025-26 season are in full swing, so time for a new thread for Amorim as well, and a clean slate of our discussions.

Moderation Note
As also noted in the previous thread, criticism of the manager and players is fine and has always been allowed on the forums, but please keep the personal insults out of it. They feed into the negativity and cause personal insult matches between posters. Any personal insults in posts will be clamped down on with deletions, warnings, and/or thread bans.

Additionally, we sometimes see people targeting and antagonising other posters by tagging them and leaving snarky comments. This is not okay either and leads to people being bullied or feeling that way. These posts will also be clamped down on. There is a time and a place for a bit of fun, but we do not tolerate when it crosses the line and becomes nasty.

These are general forum rules, but given how discussions on United and its staff and players have been going recently, we wanted to emphasize them here.

Hope he turns things around. I really like him.

His system is so shit, that INEOS can't even sign a player they've been chasing for over 1 month now.

#AmorimOut #Bring442Back

But seriously though, they are making things so much more difficult for him than it needs to be this season, feel kinda sorry for him. Really like him as a manager and his way of handling things, hope it doesn't end up messy for him this season.

Huge task on his hands

Nice guy, like his personality but needs to work miracles to not be sacked before Christmas. With the current squad, if he does pull off a turnaround, it will be truly remarkable achievement and he will fully deserve the position. And by turnaround I don't mean winning the title or anything, just being competitive with the top 6 would be a major step forward.

Clean slate for him this year. Whatever happened last season should be swept under the rug because he came in before he wanted to. But unless we do some really good business in the next few weeks, it's hard to see us getting into the top half of the table as not only do we have almost the exact same players, some of them we wont even be able to rely on (Garnacho, Rashford).

I would really like for Amorim to turn things around but I don't see how he can do it without a proper back up. We need to buy Mbeumo, a striker, another midfielder and a new GK. But it seems like we'll be stuck with Hojlund and Onana and even the Mbeumo deal is now in doubt.

Don't expect miracles to come if we have this kind of shambolic transfer window. We might slighlty improve but without a proper striker I don't see us fighting for the European places.

Poor guy. Genuinely feel bad for him.
I've genuinely never felt less bad for a Man Utd manager. Tied with ETH. Everyone else I could sympathize with. Even Moyes who I knew wasn't up to it and wanted gone.

Every United Manager has been backed with huge money. Amorim joins us with an abysmal squad full of disruptive drama queens or injury prone lads. He can't do feck all about it as we can't buy new players and can't sell the shitty ones.

He joined half way through the season just before the busy Christmas period and our management helps him out by loaning our forwards out and not giving him an emergency loan.

It's a joke. Our club is a complete disaster right now, a smoking husk of what it used to be.

I feel bad for him because he was given a job that he should never have been given with a squad that his system doesnt work with and has been shafted by us not being able to afford to back him with all the signings he needs to make his system work.

There's not gonna be a Ruben Amorim | 2026-27 thread, so we better get some mileage out of this one, boys

He took the job fully aware of the profile of this squad. From the very start he didn't instill confidence that he could make it work with the "suffering" sentiments, and it panned out worse than anyone's wildest nightmares.

I get that he preferred to start in summer and not midseason, but like you said he took the job fully aware of our situation on and off the pitch

Same thing as it was with Ten Hag. Remember people saying how sorry they felt for him for taking the job. As if he didn't take it knowing the squad isn't that great and as if you reject an opportunity to manage such a big club that easily. He obviously underestimated how hard it is going to be to make it work here.

I don't think he would have expected to play the 2nd half of the season with only 4 forwards and the club not bringing in anyone. As usual with United, I imagine that he didn't quite realise the task at hand until he was actually here. Not only that but we were already into the season.

It's worse now than it's ever been and that's not on Amorim. It's just the state of our squad thanks to the poor management of player contracts and crap transfers. We've spent 700m euros in the past three seasons and other than Yoro and Maz (value for money) I'd say all of those transfers have ultimately failed.

It's seriously scary the amount of money we've squandered.

It's nothing like ten Hag though. Ten Hag was backed too much if anything, to the point where we spent about 200m on his former players.

I doubt Amorim expected to be a week away from our pre season tour with only 1 signing made and no sales done yet. After having 2 attackers loaned out halfway through the season and no replacements brought in.

I think he's been poor since taking over but he really hasn't been given a chance to succeed.

He'll likely end up sacked before the season is over, if we're being brutally honest.

Obviously hope he can turn things around though.

Can already see the feeling "bad" for him posts..

He is the one responsible for completely outing Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Garnacho which is costing us millions, making everyone know we are desparate for them to leave beyond repair. I can understand his personal problems with Rashford and Garnacho (which I'm not 100% on the manager's side either), but what have Sancho and Antony done in his tenure to not be able to even train with the main team? I want them gone as anyone does, but don't think this is the way.

Same manager who decided to keep Bruno against a potential fortune and by that waved away a potential 80-100 million pounds that could have been used greatly for an actual rebuild. It was his decision once again and he will have to take responsibility for it. Any serious manager would have thanked him for his services but priotised the long term over the short term.

All this whilst he is chasing for two number 10's whilst we already had Amad and his beloved Bruno, which just doesn't make any sense.

I assume the Mbeumo deal will happen, would prefer it to have happened earlier but that would take his spending to a total of 150 million pounds without selling, which is not too much lower than EtH's net spend per summer window (who had 3 summer windows, often quoted as 600million in 2 years, but actually 600 million in 3 full summer transfer windows, spend of about 200 million per summer window but net spend would be lower).

He should be judged very hard and harsh if drastic improvement isn't made after our worst season in recent history.

Same, I think.

The guy is earning millions for being terrible at his job, and getting sympathy in the process. I wouldn't feel that bad for him, I reckon there are people in the world who have it worse

I feel bad for us, and I'm not responsible for results at all. I am 100% sure he feels much, much worse.

Bruno wanted to stay.

Just opened this thread looking that most of your posts are aimlessly negative. Is that because youre having a bad day or bad life? Give him proper time, proper preseason and hopefully some new additions, replacements for the overpaid useless primadonas.

Despite some bad results we played very well and even during most of the big games and almost nicked the major European cup and got into CL. ETH would finish 8th-10th and would shit his pants in knockout stages and serve shite football until the end. I for one am happy we changed the manager midseason who showed he has clear ideas so we can be way better prepared for the next season.

Or do you wanna bet on he's getting sacked? I'd bet against. If he stays you will never post here again. How confident are you?

The repetitiveness of some of the doom sayers are honestly getting very stale and boring.

Enjoy the summer ffs.
