I swear I read a quote somewhere where he said that he’ll only change his formation IF & when the players get this system down to a tee and know what their roles are, which is a bit backwards.
I can kind of see his mindset because in this system it’s easy to interchange in-game into other systems.
But it’s not currently working with the players he has, why not change to the 4-4-2 diamond we used in pre-season for now and then in Jan if we get a midfielder then change back to the 3-4-3 that he wants to use.

Hiring a nobody like Slot, with Klopp gone.Thing is, you can talk about tactics 24/7. Whether you like some particular formation or not. But eventually it has to come down to performance and results - the latter is horrible. As it comes down to performance, I can't recall the last time we played a 11 vs 11 game where on the commentary or yourself, you see United controlling the whole game such as it seems like we have 1 more player on the pitch compared to the opponent.
Whether it has been us playing in the cups vs lower league sides or Liverpool or City away - it seems like we have chasing the game or fighting for the ball all the time. We have no control over the pace of the game and it causes us to make invidual errors more, because players are out of position or chasing shadows.
You have to control & slow down the game more to have the control and patience.

I reckon we will let this season falter beyond salvation and will then let him go when things can no longer be improved. Preferably after Iraola, Glasner and every potentially good choice are already signed by different clubs.
There's a large body of evidence that INEOS are absolute clowns with no pedigree in running a top club. Keeping Amorim even after what we have witnessed only adds to the growing list.

?One of his many problems is that he lacks flexibility, even within the acceptance that he has to play 3 at the back. Yesterday, he should've gone for a 3-5-2 because of Mount and Cunha's absence. This would've packed the midfield without the need to move another player out of position.

His job would be under threat if he were at any other club in the league. But United? Nah, we've gotta do things differently because we're not like the other kneejerk clubs who want to be successful. In one way its admirable. He's decided he's going out on his shield trying to play his way. The other way is that it's bloody stupid as it obviously isn't working, whether that be players unable to play that way he wants or him being unable to get his ideas across.

I'm pretty confident you won't find takes so much detached from reality in any other fanbase when it comes to managers. At every other club they are expected to work with what they have from the get go. They are expected to get results ASAP. Amorim's own replacement was sacked within weeks. But nope, we need a multi year plan with every manager. He needs to be given time and x transfer windows to maybe show something.
To be fair the club done the same for Ole and ETH. Make it excruciating for everyone until the season is wasted. Theyre busy counting the money that can be made off a new stadium

The ownership shouldn’t be afraid of looking stupid when sacking him. Those win stats speak for themselves. Nobody has a crystal ball for forecasting how well a manager is going to do when they’re appointed. Some appointments look great on paper like transfers but the reality can be very different.
If the head coach/manager sucks, he goes and we move onto the next one. If you get beat by a League 2 team with all your big hitters at your disposal then what chance have you got against any Premier League team?

Apart from the fact that every player can also play other formations. So a bit of a odd take to claim each of these players is a write off.
Maybe Maguire would struggle to play 2 at the back these days, and Dorgu would have to adapt to leftback, and Heaven isn't quite as good in a 2 (though played it at Arsenal) but otherwise everyone else is pretty comfortable in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1
The Bournemouth coach or even Emery would have a field day with this squad I reckon
