So if we lose to Wolves, is that the point we officially call it quits and reclaim our club from Amorim? Or does he somehow survive that too?
If we lose to that lot anyone involved in the game should have their contract voided.

For all his flaws Ole still saw us as a big side that should try to score goals and attack.

He at least knew what a Utd manager should aim to be. Amorim treats us as though we're an Everton or West Ham.

Spot on.

Ole knew the United way, but lacked the top level nous you need as a manager to get us back to the top.

I've said it before but Amorim is the Portuguese Roy Hodgson!
Its funny you mention West Ham as they actually rejected him!

He really doesn’t get it. Or he does and is just the most stubborn manager in history

Yep, the mighty Jarrod Bowen towered over us to flick the ball on for the goal. What a dumb excuse.

Ruben is cowardly, he subs defenders frequently and looks to play out 0-0 or 1-0 if we manage to go up, which always ends in us conceding. He doesn't value youth, doesn't value controlling the game, doesn't have the backbone to send the team to go for it. I don't know why anyone is surprised after last season and the icing on that cake which was that limp and lame surrender to a Spurs side who pretty much anyone else would have rolled over without much effort.

Absolutely shit subs. Not sure what he was trying to say to accomplish knowing dorgu and ugarte are the most untrustworthy players at the club to keep the ball and close out the game.

Very disappointed in Amorim lately. We gained a bit of traction by not losing for a run of games, only to slide back into mediocrity with a needless loss and senseless draws.

He won’t be getting sacked anytime soon, but he does need to get us back winning again or else the pressure will be back on.

The depressing thing is that pressure or not, hes not getting sacked.

His system is crap and suits none of our players.

Basically the entirety of our outfield have played their best football in a different position to where they are being played. Just look at today's line up.

Maz - best position RB. Plays RCB

Heaven - best position is in a traditional CB pairing. Plays centre of a back 3

Shaw - best position LB. Plays LCB

Diallo - best position RW. Plays RWB

Dalot - best position RB. Plays LWB

Casemiro - best position DM in a midfield 3. Plays in a 2 man CM

Bruno - best position 10. Plays in a 2 man CM

Mbuemo - best position RW. Plays as inside 10

Cunha - best position LW. Plays as inside 10

Zirkzee you can argue is probs playing his natural position.

1 player in 10 in their favoured, natural position. And we wonder why we are crap.

Either bin your crap system or sod off!

I was thinking this earlier when watching the game, he genuinely has the majority of the players playing out of position to some extent purely to accommodate his system.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. It’s absolutely batshit mental.

We could lose 10-0 to Wolves and he still wouldn't be sacked

And Bowen is 5'8" if measured with his boots on.

Lads he doesn’t know how to handle it. He’s stuck in his ways, using change as an excuse. If I failed to deliver at work do a year I’d be let go.

He isn’t adaptable. Hes no good to us. Get rid

Hey bud. Can we get some clarity on why you won't add a poll? I'm sure if you explain your stance and maybe put a note on the thread it would help?

I just cannot believe how cowardly he is. The previous subs were bad enough but that last one was really taking the piss.

We needed a goal at home against a relegation side and he’s too scared to sub off a CB for an extra midfielder or forward for the last 5 minutes.

Just too risky to end the game without a back 5 and 2 DM’s on the pitch in his eyes.

Why we are not doing a poll New

We don't see the point. First, you can get a clear enough idea of the mood at any moment in time if you just skim through a few pages of the thread. Second, poll results only mean anything for a few days, cause afterwards people might change opinions without changing their vote, and so on. Third, we would then have discussion about poll numbers, which is pretty boring and also, because of point 2, not as relevant as people think. Edit: and finally, our experience is that these polls tend to be divisive and lead to more negativity toxicity.

So as much as people might be curious what a poll would say, we don't think it would do this thread any good.

What pressure though? Is there a floor?

Why was this not applied in the last 12 previous years? And quite a number of posters would not find this boring but probably reassuring. It does not avoid negativity to block polls on the worst (I assume) performing manager in the club’s history.

I would welcome back everyone of the managers since Fergie instead of this clown..he has 49 points out of 123 points possible for Man Utd in the PL..Let that sink in. Dreadful defensive football

As long as we’re positioned for a CL or EL spot he will be safe imo. Ratcliffe has set that as a target so given that we would’ve been in the CL zone with a win, as long as we continue to linger in or around where we are now, nothing will happen. If we drop into the lower half in Jan or Feb, then that’s a different story.

How can you have 3 defenders and still struggle to contain one attacker?

I hate how boring he has made us... LVG was the worse, I actually fell asleep once during LVGs time here, against Spurs, think we drew. Anyways, Amorims football is close to that gobshite level of entertainment. Would've kind of accepted if we grinded out wins and kept CS for about 60-70% of the matches, but nope not even that. Still inconsistent and now boring on top of that.

He is programmed to do certain things. Things inevitable with him:

- stick to 3421
- never adapt/evolve tactically during a match
- make a CB sub regardless if needed or not
- make a WB sub regardless if needed or not
- ruin Mainoo

Today, dalot finally has a decent match. Not fantastic, but decent. But he takes him off to bring on our worst player this season. The one who consistently fails to do anything useful on the pitch.

Martinez for Shaw in the 88th minute. Why do that? We conceded in the 83rd minute. Why not take out a defender and put on Mainoo in the 84th minute to try to win the game? At this point, why not sub Lacey on? Go for it.

No, stick to 3421, never change tactically, make useless subs and then go talk to the media. Good media handling skills, but this is not enough to be manchester united’s manager. It’s not about whether we won or not at this point, it’s about whether we are in the right direction as a football club or not. I’m afraid we are not. A recent “above average” form gave us some hope, but that was it.

That was a bad performance. Our performances at the start of the season were much better than our performances over the last month or so. Thats not a good sign.

We're going to drop a lot of points without the 3 AFCON players. 1 pt from our last two home games from West Ham and 0 points from 10' Everton, on top of the countless bad performances since he took the job. Why are Ineos continuing with this guy?

Have to feel for him today - he didn't have his usual masterplan of humping it in the box for a last minute Maguire header.

Don't rides usually experience a few ups and downs? Feels like it's been about 10% enjoyment and 90% shite since he arrived.
Its been mainly shit for the most part. But he took us to a European final, in a game which was unforgettable in the QF.

Respect anyone who wears the badge and tries their best. Don't think anyone can accuse Ruben of not doing that. Unfortunately it's not enough.

Best to move on and get someone in who might see us improve.

We're still fecking shit and and I'm expecting us to soon tumble down the table again with these performances once the league settles down a bit. Frustrating as there's absolutely a chance to challenge for top 5 this season, but nothing we're seeing is working anywhere near well enough for that.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that this squad is unlikely to ever work in this system, and Amorim's lack of adaptability and in game management isn't helping matters. There's far too many players that are in positions on the pitch that they don't suit, and it's not like we can just replace them all. The system isn't the only problem, I've always said that, but it's definitely a problem when it makes so many of our players ineffective.

1 point at home to both Everton and West Ham. He needs to feck off, honestly. Completely inept.

But he's not doing his best is he. All he's doing is making sure he always uses his system regardless of what happens on the pitch.

Well the majority of posters see the point and want the poll. We have had polls in the past so i don't see what has changed to make them suddenly some kind of massive problem. Are discussions about poll numbers any more or less boring than discussions about whether to have a poll or not? Can we have a poll about having a poll? At this point it looks like the mods have some kind of agenda.

Wolves have 2 points, lost the last 7 games and haven't won a league game since April. We lose that and I'd sack the manager and half the squad
