This is the worst AC Milan team in history and they're going to suffer
 
Wish him the best, genuinely. Really interested to see how he gets on.

Going off their last match last season they had a 532 formation, so already set up for his 5 at the back.

He's definitely got a thing for big clubs who've been crap for ages.

It's not impossible that he does quite well there. They've probably got as much chance at winning Serie A as anybody else other than Inter if they do anything in the transfer market. He's not getting six months of being total shite before even making vague movements towards being a bit better like he got here, though.

This is the holy grail for a trendy up and coming manager because you get at least 3 runs at it before people start to drop you from contention. Join failing big club Succeed and your a genius, fail and the club was fecked anyway, try again.
 
How do you say "Ruben Amorim, he'll bring the glory days again" in Italian? He'll turn Rossoneri around...

Fair play to him for not sitting on his arse though. That is a good sign. He wasn't the right fit here but I hope he does well there. It'll make us look less mental for hiring him in the first place and sticking with him into the second season
 
Talk about failing upwards...

I've made no secret about how much I grew to dislike this charlatan and his rabid, toxic fanbase by the end of his tenure here. I'd usually be full of complete indifference when ex-Manchester United managers move on to other pastures, but considering the (emotional, structural and financial) damage this fraud caused us, I wish him nothing but the very worst.

I have no idea how competitive or not the Serie-A has been, but I'd wager it's not nearly as physical or competitive as the PL. So wouldn't be surprised if Milan manage to finish top six (despite and not because of him) at the very least and he's painted as some kind of genius who was let down by the United hierarchy.

I am interested to see though how the Italian fans would react to his usual self-serving tripe of excuses, or throwing players under the bus. Ruben is in for a shock when he realizes the rest of the world isn't as patient and understanding (and gullible) as Manchester United fans are...

I echo all of this. It would be funny if Milan's academy unearths a gem of a young midfielder, only for Amorim to barely give him any minutes, or slag him off when he's on loan winning PoTM awards. Let's see how their ultras take to being treated like idiots who don't understand the complexities of his formation.
 
Wouldn't be surprised if he does well, he failed here at United but that doesn't automatically make you a bad coach or manager all together.

Job was too big for him, he wasn't good enough and too stuck in his ways. But I do think there were some things he did well.

To answer - No because I am a fan of Ole’s because of what he did for our club as a player and a manager and I know the affection he has for our club. I know every loss and bad performance hurt him as much as it did any of us. You would not hear me defend any action of his had he finished 15th and was seen laughing as he walked out after getting his payout.

He's a milan fan, so presumably he will at least care about this job
 
Judging him on his time here, this is a terrible appointment. How are Milan fans feeling? I read they're unhappy with the board / decision makers, and I don't think this appointment will help.
