Probably the most I’ve enjoyed watching us play under him.
In fairness to Amorim, although I'm not a believer, we have been improving from a low baseline.
I would really love to win the Europa League. I think it would help everyone buy into his project a bit more (myself included).
Was a bit worried by our pressing structure early in the first half, particularly with how high the wing backs were getting and how easy it was making for Sociedad to get through us. But he seemed to adjust it a little bit to be more of a 4-4-2 out of possession, with Dorgu very high, and Dalot dropping in. That stemmed the bleeding and from there, while we weren't spectacular, we never really looked like losing.
My dream outcome would be by this time next year we're all discussing if we can beat Arsenal's 50 game domestic unbeaten record or whatever it was. I don't believe but I'd like to. I really would. Be great to be proven wrong.
The system looks good when the wing-backs aren't being relentlessly pressed by the opposition. Unfortunately that will continue to happen in the league.
We were shit for 10 minutes. After that, we were good. But we did not take the game from them from the start.First time this season I've seen us take the game to the opposition from the start and sustain attacks throughout the game. More of the same please, Ruben.
Up until last night, we've been shit for the first 45 minutes of every game under Amorim so when I said we "took the game to them from the start", I was referring to how the majority of the first half was very good, as well as the entire second half.We were shit for 10 minutes. After that, we were good. But we did not take the game from them from the start.
A lot of people are making positive comments on the various player threads. Nothing wrong with this thread being a bit quieter whilst that’s happening. This thread gained 3 pages since final whistle of a great performance.
If we had lost, it would have been 20+ pages already.
Why are people so desperate to criticise and ready to spam frustrated and hateful comments all day, but prefer to stay silent when there's praise to be given?
It’s that old adage. Complainants are always more vocal than advocates. This thread gained 3 pages since final whistle of a great performance.

Need to go the distance in the Europa League now. Champions League qualification would be a real shot in the arm for this project.Amorim: You can feel it, the fans, the noise, it's hard to explain, confidence from supporters, gives us a lot of confidence to go to our games in Premier League. This game today was very good for everyone in the club.
United are a quality Europa League side so it's always a good watch at this level.
A nice confidence boost for some of the players who have taken a bashing on socials for the last few months too!
Ano, writing the kid off after 3 gamesWelcome to RedCafe. Where one day a player can be considered world class and completely shit on another day.
The fullbacks are just deep lying wingers, of course they going to be pressed no matter what the formation is. It’s on the midfield and defence to give them an option when they have the ball. The system looks good when the wing-backs aren't being relentlessly pressed by the opposition. Unfortunately that will continue to happen in the league.

Vitek
Yoro - Kukonki - Heaven
Amad - Collyer - Kone - Dorgu
Garnacho - Mainoo
Obi Martin
We could start a team like this next season.
Average age must be around 20.

Agreed. Amorin said the difference was how physical we were. They were a small technical team who barely pressed. The system looks good when the wing-backs aren't being relentlessly pressed by the opposition. Unfortunately that will continue to happen in the league.
Twice in 2021. Beat Sociedad and Granada by 4 overWhen's the last time we had this kind of scoreline in a two legged tie against a Spanish team? Very memorable.
There clearly is improvement to be seen. Add to the team that played yesterday Martinez, Shaw, Mount and Amad who in theory are all among the best players we got and suddenly there might be light at the end of the tunnel.
A bunch of players that are not fitting out and 3-4 in and with a bit of luck when it comes to injury we could look much sharper.
Would get injured getting of the bus, Dorgu the future, Shaw should leave in summerShaw doesn't get into the team if Martinez is fit as they both play at LCB. Play Shaw at wing back and you'll see Dorgu warming up within 10 minutes cause Shaw broke down again after 2 runs.
Shaw and Mount should be sold at the first bargain opportunity opening up in the summer. We need to be more harsh with our material, you can’t build a consistent starting 11 with crotched sportsmen involved. They are done. Question only is how many years and millions we want to drag them on cause we are so nice. There clearly is improvement to be seen. Real Betis two years ago. When's the last time we had this kind of scoreline in a two legged tie against a Spanish team? Very memorable.
In that sense it is an improvement. Needless to say, we were poor enough for ten minutes to give them a goal.Up until last night, we've been shit for the first 45 minutes of every game under Amorim so when I said we "took the game to them from the start", I was referring to how the majority of the first half was very good, as well as the entire second half.
I think Sociedad tried looking at last night but they couldn’t sustain it and ended up dropping off even with 11 v 11. There were big mismatches in terms of pace which it’s nice to be on the right side of for once. There was even a point that General Zirkzee absolutely rinsed someone for pace which was beautiful. If ever there was a chance to build up some confidence it’s now with Leicester next. The system looks good when the wing-backs aren't being relentlessly pressed by the opposition. Unfortunately that will continue to happen in the league.
It really is hard to tell as Sociedad were very poor. One thing that does seem clear is that, whatever problems exist in the squad, the greatest one is mentality. No one knows wtf this team will do at this moment. But a game like yesterday shows the players are a lot better than ‚14th place PL, this squad can‘t do better‘ nonsense spouted on here.
100%And Bruno, has been fecking disrespected by the Caf. Our best player by far.
