Ruben Amorim | Sacked

The worse we'll do going forward, the more I will despise him. Same as Erik, but Erik wasn't a cnut though.

How do you know? We lost to Grimsby. We lost to 10 men Everton. We lost loads of games.

Any exercise in trying to prove we'd be better off keeping him is futile, because his abysmal record speaks for itself
We've lost 2 games at home all season, and by one goal. Pipe down. Majority of performances were far, far better than this

Coach wasn't the problem, but his meltdown left the board no choice

Having the last laugh here… lost to an opponent he dominated a few weeks ago

Doesn't matter who the manager is, they would all lose to Brighton and Welbeck would score. That's the way it is.

I won't lie, I just feel kinda livid tbh. Stupid fecking dumbass decision, and so it's proven to be. Out of virtually all competitions in January.

Are there actual real serious people trying to claim that today shows we should have kept him?

Because we’ve gone out of the FA Cup to Brighton? Under an interim who’s had 5 days with the team?

Do we need to remind everyone under which manager we bombed out of the EFL Cup to Grimsby fecking Town??

Or perhaps watch a rerun of the Europa League Final.

Some real short term memories/amnesia in here today.

Are you people pretending that this team wasn't coached by him for over a year? It's gonna take some time and a really good manager to get this group going, but ffs he was crap.

Should have been sacked after the Grimsby debacle. And really he should have went after the Europa League defeat.

We persisted with an incompetent coach that has set us back another few seasons at least.

It was the wrong decision, should have waited til seasons end.
I agree with this. People forget how bad this group of players have been playing 4231 - they are not going to magically transform into a functioning unit by just switching back.

How are people defending a manager who averaged one win a month? He didnt even win 2 games in a row except one time.

Fletcher being shit doesn't absolve Amorim of being shit either. We need someone who knows what they're doing. It remains to be seen if we can find anyone this season who can do that.

Its funny to read these comments because its almost like people haven't been watching him for 14 months.

32% win rate and we're here justifying that he should have stayed

Fletchers the interim for barely a week and he's already produced better football than I've seen for the last 2 years.

Aye. Feels awful when you could see it coming from a mile away. Now just waiting for us to slip down the league table.

This thread should be locked. Whenever we lose we'll be in here pretending Amorim was doing a half decent job.
Mate, it goes both ways. If this had been 5 - 0 with a Mainoo brace we would not hear the end of it. So you're just gonna have to feckin deal with it. Tough titties.

The problem is that this club is run by such morons that they picked the worst timing to make a decision that should've been made 6 months ago.

They should've clearly given him till after AFCON and then kicked him out. Now, they're destroying the morale of the squad and possibly a couple more interims.
This is spot on. Nobody is arguing that Ruben was an incredible manager who had us in title winning form, but the football overall this year was significantly better, even when results didn’t go our way. He was missing his best defender and two immense attackers; they should have either sacked him after the europa league final or let him see the season through. The timing of the sacking is absolutely suicidal.

I'm shocked that the players are still not good enough in a back 4 under a different manager. Really didn't see this coming.

I'd still rather lose with Fletcher as coach than with Amorim as coach. We left it too late.
