It's a real blindspot in the current rules of the game.

I always find Rugby refs let loads of things go in a game, no surprise as there’s a hell of a lot going on but big decisions are missed and not much, if anything, is made of it.

If a penalty has been committed, then you should have an actual advantage. Not a few seconds to decide.

I’ve seen it last up to 10 phases regularly, in football that’d be about 2 mins or so. Can’t do that.
