Rugby Union Discussion 2025/26

I thought that the second they did it. Trust your dominant forwards to run down the clock.

The really crazy thing is they eventually got possession back when Pollock made a brilliant turnover. Immediately followed by another awful decision when he tried to make an offload he didn’t need to make and lost the ball forward. Madness.

Chessum running his try wide under no pressure was the difference in points. A lot better from England, but some stupid moments.

Think England can feel a little aggrieved with some of the decisions tonight and probably deserved to win it on balance. The calling of advantage over when Smith kicked and France ended up running it back was especially harsh. France could have seen yellow before the Bamba sin bin and you could argue not a whole pile of difference between that one and the penalty try given in the first half.

Despite all that, if England had an elite kicker like Ramos they would have won either way.

I thought that too but it was actually a knock on advantage so had to end as soon as Smith kicked it. One of a number of truly idiotic decisions by England in the end game. They were killing France in the scrum too.

Credit to the six nations. Looks a limited format but great value every year. Hats off to all involved.

Oh, I thought it was penalty advantage! Obviously biased for the England win here, as horrible as that feels to say, but I didn't see a high tackle at the end and who knows if Itoje makes that deliberate knock on if France aren't on an advantage.

On the whole thought Nika had a really poor game and I'd be fuming if I was an Englad fan, but still if they kick those conversions and Chessum straightens his line for his try they probably don't lose this game.

I agree. Ref was awful. He gets far too influenced by the home crowds. Inconsistent.

Not a huge Rugby fan but found myself engrossed in this year's tournament. Shocks, great games from round 1-6 and championship decided with last kick. All teams competing won a game.

Kind of what the nations league should be in Football but can't quite manage.

If I may make it about Scotland for a second. Thank feck the Irish beat us by the bonus and not the other way round. I think that ending would’ve killed me.

What a day of rugby. Hard luck to the Irish who almost grabbed the tournament out of nowhere, considering how close they were opposing the first two games. England are such a weird side too.

Best six nations ever.

Tonights game was probably the best SN game ever.

South Africa and NZ might be the world's best teams, but 6N is the best rugby tournament of all. Anybody can beat anyone else. What a run of games!

Weird how RTE commentators can’t pronounce Daragh Murray’s name but BBC can. MURRay, not MurAAAy!

Id be fecking livid if I was his teammate and he did that. Even in the try area he had time and space to loop around to the posts but instead wanted the big dive for the camera.

I wasn't able to watch it. I sadly didn't try too hard as I thought it was a forgone conclusion. I take it they missed the subsequent conversion, then? They really did throw the win away.

I didnt watch it either but I gather they did.
