i.e. 4 Teams go down, Each team must start at least 2 academy players in their starting XI, Abolish GD, Each team must start X amount of English players, allow physios straight on the pitch and make the game continue like in Rugby.

Would you change anything or are you happy with how things are?

More football generally than just the premier league, I'd like to see the clock stopped for fouls etc to prevent time tactical time wasting, injury feigning and substitutions in stoppage time whose only aim is to use time up. Who wants to watch that? It ruins the entertainment factor.

It's ridiculous at the moment, teams deliberately try to keep the ball out of play and run down time as a tactic instead of actually playing the game. Then the referee will add on a pretty arbitrary amount which can bare little relation to the amount of time the ball has actually been in play.

This. Nothing worse than time wasting. Run the ball into the far corner and try and keep hold of it - fair enough. But faking injury and general dicking around to run down the clock is something football could definitely do without.

Minimum 4 transgender players in every team's matchday squad. 2 of the transgender players must have come through the club's academy.

Every time these threads crop up I say the same, clock stops for injuries, goals and substitutions. It continues through goal kicks, throw ins, corners etc.

Amazing how many times a player in a team who is holding on to a win/draw will go down with cramp, but a player who is trying to score to win/equalise never does.

Cramp is a myth that referees pander to. As are most injuries that don't force a player to be subbed. Infuriating when a physio comes on the pitch, they give their hamstring a spray, they help the player hobble off the pitch, and then when instructed the player sprints back on at full pace, all whilst minutes from the game are lost and never adequately added back on.

Though I agree with your point on a general level, cramp is most certainly not a myth :)

People going down with cramp on opportune moments might be faking it, but cramp can hurt like a motherfecker.

Oh yeah, I'm not denying the existence of cramp. Cramp is real. I occasionally get it in my calf at night, it is agony and it's stiff for days afterwards.

I am however very skeptical of how prevalent it really is in football. I don't believe even 1% of the players signalling that they are having cramp actually have cramp. It's always on a team trying to see out the game, never the one trying to win.

Yep, it's annoying to no end. Same with keepers wasting 5 minutes worth of time and subsequently seeing the 4th official put up a sign that says 3 minutes of extra time. Time wasting works, and as long as it does, teams won't stop wasting time. They'd be silly to.

Only three players on the bench. Would be a relatively simple way to level the playing field a little between the richest and poorest clubs.

Stop the clock for injuries and timewasting.

Referee panels can review incidents even when the referee has seen and acted on it.

Stopping the clock, all games finish on 90 minutes.

Could have a countdown clock when it gets to 89:50 - god that would be terrible

Diving is reviewed retrospectively and given a three game ban if player deemed to have dived.

If they didn't, nothing happens. If it's 50/50, leave. Anything else is a ban, no appeals. Panel of two ex refs, two ex footballers, one other... majority vote. Panel chosen from larger pool and no links to old clubs allowed.

    Hate diving.

A relegation play off - the exact opposite of the Championship promotion playoff.

Bottom two sides go down. Then places 15-18 have semi finals with the two losers facing off in a relegation final to see who gets the drop.

I thought they did that already?

Problem is unless the media pick up on a dive they just ignore it.

Stoppage time is equal to the amount of stoppages in a match not just 1 minute in the first half and whatever the ref feels like in the second.

Also VAR, no "interfering with play" offside and play should only stop for injuries if a bone is protruding from the skin or a limb has become detached.

Every squad player available on the bench.
Must have minimum 3 academy players in the squad, 7 English in the squad but none forced to start.
Have the referee mic'd up and turned on when he is explaining decisions to captains.
Players carded if they crowd the referee.
Still three sides relegated but a play-off if teams 16th and 17th are within 1 point of each other.
Transfer window closes before the season starts but ONLY if La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 do the same.
Retrospective bans for obvious dives/fake injuries. (Might happen now but it's clearly not enforced).
Clock stops for injuries, goals and subs.

A stop clock will do one thing....bring in commercial breaks and TV time outs. No thanks. If a ref says there are 4 minutes of injury time and a team makes a sub in injury time, then the ref lets 4:30 of injury time play or however long it takes. If a ref doesn't add that extra time (which I've seen happen) then he should be repremanded because he is making officials look foolish...

I would like to see the offside law changed. I'd like it so there must be clear space between the attacker and second last player for it to be offside. No more of this "his head was leaning ahead" crap. I feel like if there needs to be clear space to be offside it will promote more attacking and more goals...

I like that one. Clear daylight, or play on.

There used to be the belief that the benefit of the doubt was given to the attacking player. That's not been the case for a long time, as we saw in the cup game first Huddersfield when VAR (and the wonky lines drawn with MS Paint) judged the skin of Juan Mata's knee to be offside.

It will also prevent the numerous offside calls that are perfectly inline or even onside. So many times an attacking player makes a great run, and is flagged, the the replay shows he has one foot behind the defender and the rest of his body in line.

Like when the ball crosses the line, it has to be 100% of the ball or it is no goal. Apply the same to offside. The whole of the body of the attacker, or it is onside.

I think it will also make it easier for the AR's to make the call and get it right. I typically have no problem if an AR misses a marginal offside and a goal is allowed incorrectly. It's such a tight call to make. But I get right pissed off when an AR waves an offside flag for a player who is onside...

Some version of FFP. A net spend cap. I seriously think clubs might invest more and better in academies/youth.
The cap could be reviewed each season.

Definitely. Perfectly timed runs behind defenders being penalised is infuriating to watch, even as a neutral.

Can't disagree with any of that but my concern over stopping play is that we end up seeing an NFL style system. No doubt Sky and BT would look to introduce ad breaks and sponsors in between. It would be annoying as feck.

Good point. The ball is not considered over the line unless the entire ball is over the line. Should be the same for a player. Would require VAR to make it work as a linesman can't get it right now.

Only 3 non academy players allowed on the bench, thus forcing clubs to give academy players a chance

Any team beginning with “Live” should not allowed to be on telly and no share of the tv money

Instead of var, use invisible lasers which obliterates whichever part of the player has strayed offside

-Allow 5 substitutions per match instead of 3
-Matches on Saturdays and Sundays only, none of this Friday or Monday crap
-Do away with the league cup. Absolutely no need for two domestic cups
-Cut away as many international breaks as possible

Not quite on-topic but make the FA Cup special again by having the semi-finals away from Wembley and don't have so many weekend games televised over such a protracted period.

I'm generally happy with the rules as they stand but understand and broadly agree with the stoppage time and offside suggestions.

All pundits must be forced to undertake an exam on the rules of the game and be fully conversant with the difference between football now and football in 1995.
