How did he set us up? Same 4 3 3?
I remember being so confused about this for a while when he was a player - couldn't understand why he was being booed after scoringThe idiot in me thought I was hearing booing at the full time whistle, then the rarely rational part of me remembered that Ruud was managing this game and it was his "chant" ringing around the stadium tonight.
Great job in getting the team playing more freely and actually putting on a good show. Not going to buy into this being a long term option at all, but it's great to have a legend get the privilege of being called a Manchester United manager, however short it will be.
Can nobody organise a defence or what? Players all over the place again defensively. But at least we scored 5 goals so all is good. Won’t get away with it against Chelsea
After Ole I never want a United legend to manage the club, the crap I read online about him really was hard to take from my fellow United fans.
Did very well with his set up and certainly got the players to step up and perform. He did look like he belonged there on the touch line
They scored a cracking goal but that defence isn’t mean enough. Drop Dalot and LindelöfCan nobody organise a defence or what? Players all over the place again defensively. But at least we scored 5 goals so all is good. Won’t get away with it against Chelsea
A lot better in attack than Leicester though. We might get away with it. Chelsea are fairly bobbins.
Perhaps the solution to Manchester United is to have ex-Fergie players managing the team on a rota. Two games maximum, an Overlap special, then on to the next man.

He's going to have to go into the molten lava like Arnie in T2Would love him to stay.
He’ll stay on as an assistant you would think

We backed fecking Moyes when he wanted to bin the staff that would have helped him transition and bring in the likes of Round. I’m sure sentiment won’t play a part here as well. It's a slightly awkward situation now, because Amorim may not have the slightest interest in working with Ruud, but he'll be aware of Ruud's standing within the club and with the fans and may feel some sort of emotional obligation to keep him on!
We can't be sentimental about it, we need to fully back whatever Amorim wants to do and if that means jettisoning Ruud, so be it.
He’ll stay as interim get 4 games, then maybe be part of a handover team, and o have a feeling he might get the Nice Job due to his super professional conduct if he wants it of course?I'd think they'll give him the option, since he was (if I remember correctly) an INEOS hire more than ETH wanting him. I'd be surprised if he stayed.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't stay in some capacity tbh.
He must of known ETH wasn't going to last the season when he took the job.
Now hear me out, seeing as no manger has been successful here over a long period, how about we just cycle in and out ex United players who have their coaching badges for 4 games at a time? Ruud gets 4 games, Keane next, Rooney after that etc
@crossy1686 own upNicked from elsewhere
I hope we don’t keep him for the sake of it.He’ll stay on as an assistant you would think
Athletic today saying he was not an INEOS hire, his name was suggested by EtH's agent during talks about refreshing the setup over the summer.I'd think they'll give him the option, since he was (if I remember correctly) an INEOS hire more than ETH wanting him. I'd be surprised if he stayed.

There's every chance that Amorim will want to bring his own men in but those men might not necessarily want to come with him. It's a slightly awkward situation now, because Amorim may not have the slightest interest in working with Ruud, but he'll be aware of Ruud's standing within the club and with the fans and may feel some sort of emotional obligation to keep him on!
