Disagree Im sure the Chelsea fans could elaborate but I always thought when watching Ziyech his issue was more a tactical one as opposed to his ability. Could work in another system, with another coach. I'd rather the club sign a faster forward to give more dynamics in the wide areas like an Antony. But I don't think Ziyechs time at Chelsea is a total summation of his capability within a competitive team.
Yes, the issue is tactical in the sense he doesn't the pace or the dribbling ability to function as a winger for Chelsea. That is literally why he fails to succeed there, he cant dribble so he always resorts to his trademark of dropping deep and pulling off a cross, but players in the premier league don't give him enough time for that. So ends up being useless most of the time. Ziyech's uselessness isn't a fault of Tuchel's.

Signing a player is important, but let's not fill up the squad with more mediocre talents. We already have Martial and Rashford for that.

People have got a real thing about doing Chelsea a massive favour by taking the likes of Werner, Ziyech, and/or Pulisic off them. It's baffling.

Haven’t z hasn’t been awful though, not in the last year as a false 9 style player

I fancy him to do well now that they have Sterling and probably Raphinha or another RW who can get in behind and he can play like he did near the end for Leverkusen as a false 9. 4-3-3 I would guess, with Mount fighting Gallagher to play as an 8 who gets forward a ton, and they'll have to buy a #6 and have Kovacic and Kante rotate as the more defensive #8. Chilwell-Ake-DeLigt-James at the back it looks like at the moment.

Enjoyed the result today but still shows that we do lack someone who can beat a man in wide areas, anyone got suggestions for who we should sign there?

What's the story with Pedro Neto? Is he a total injury crock or has he just had a tough year of it? Young, left footed winger who has pretty good production rates. Very surprising we haven't been linked unless the injury situation isn't good.

Although we need a right winger, would still rather we sign a striker, if not two and a defensive midfielder to go with DejOng or alternatives, cant see all coming.

None of the options I have seen really seem like great buys, not seen anyting of Antony to judge who seems the main one.

Also, didnt see much of friendly so not coming here just because of that. From the little I have seen of him, his loan was a waste of time, he still looks very raw abd bti saying he is ready to be the starter....but we did sign a massive talent I feel a couple of years back when missing out on Sancho....

And I dont mean Amad who I like, but Pellestri. Just see something in him I like. He looks slight and lightweight but he seems to have decent decision making, decent pace, is very direct, makes good runs, seems calm around the area and finishing. I hope he stays and gets some opportunities, still feel one of him or Amad can make it here and though not as technically gifted I can see a bit of a Strachan or Jesper Olsen even in his play...if he is loaned, better still be in this country if he is to develop, but with the extra subs and places on the bench, I hope he says, feel he can make an imapct this year

I like Neto and he is still young....but I still dont get the superhype he seems to gets from pundits like Jamie Redknapp. Looks a good player but they all seem to label him a world star in the making, not sure I see that myself and looks like he would be a hefty fee too.

He did come back thowarsd the end of last season didnt he? Cant really remember as I shut down memories of football after Xmas with how bad we were, couldnt wait for the season to end.

Still not seeing it with some of the current wingers, maybe its the new thing with the front three, but dont seem so many really really godo wide players not at big clubs, although he seems to have it all Raphina fee seems crazy to me too as he hasnt set hte world alight consistently at Leeds in my mind, £60m+ seems a bit crazy to me.

The attitude and injuries seem to be major red flags......I still think Dembele is far more talented than most of these other names all bandied about and personally with the state of the club he is at, the problems he has had despite a decent last season....I think a move is right for him, I am surprised Klopp hasnt gone in for him, maybe wages or the red flags mentioned but he really was a super player at DOrtmund

He trashed Klopp's gaff which he was renting from him when he joined Dortmund so wouldn't be waiting on that call if I were him.

Problem with Dembele is going to be his injury record, whilst he has been ok for a period, he seems to get a bad injury every 12-15 months that keeps him out for 10-20 games. Whether he is over that or not is a debate to be had. Its clear from the game tonight that our attack is actually blunt, even give the game. Liverpool were not great

Yeah ideally we could do with a striker who works in a fluid 3 but also has that ability to be a presence in the box as well. Will be honest I am struggling to think of anyone who fits the bill so feel free to suggest.

Rumours that Sane has been offered to Madrid. Only way it could really impact us is if it means Madrid are then desperate to get Asensio out and he turns down the rumoured newcastle bid, maybe he comes to us for very cheap? Not much pace, but we're looking to dominate possession anyways and he does have some similarities with Ziyech in terms of being effective from wider, deeper positions due to his shooting and crossing.

Asensio? Let's try Rodrygo.

Hard no on Asensio. Massive James Rodriguez aura about him. There's got to be more enticing options out there.

Well this is the problem, left footed wingers are not all that easy to come by, but yeah screw Asensio terrible player whose value is boosted by purple patches of goal scoring and doing nothing else

Can we not compete with Real for Sane instead of taking Asensio from them?

Would not mind sane. Asensio? No thanks.

I know he's not a fancy name, and he maybe wouldn't score as much goals but how about Dwight McNeil? With Burnley relegated he's one we can pick up on the cheap (which is good if it doesn't work out like James) and who is half-decent in the league and can give us the extra body to replace MG and Cavani.

You wouldn't mind a player that isn't a right winger for our right winger solution? Just because a player is left footed and a forward doesn't mean he can play there. Joao Felix isn't a right winger, Dybala isn't a right winger either. Asensio is an attacking midfielder/no.10, but the issue is that he is nowhere near good enough to play at that position for Real Madrid, so he's shoehorned as a right winger. Not only that but he's had huge issues with injuries over the past 5 years.

Seriously, go look at a Real Madrid forum and see what they're complaining about: a complete lack of options at RW.

Honestly, it beggars belief; so many users here are intent on us signing the rejects of awful players from other top clubs. Do you guys really want us to become the next Everton? We should be going for the players Madrid are desperate to get into their squad, not the ones they're desperate to get rid of.

Although I think he would struggle a little in the first half of the season, I feel that Pellestri could become an important member of the squad, and eventually tie down the RW spot.

Dont see us getting Antony now and the RW market is not very exciting. There's Neto (not sure how much he would cost though) and there's Michael Olise (still young but promising and apparently has a release clause). Rumours about Sane's availability recently although he's better on the left.

Wouldn't mind Olise, especially if the rumours of a release clause at £35m are true. If true I would say he's a potential bargain in a position we're in desperate need to strengthen.
I prefer us buying Olise for £35m than Antony for £70m, and then we could spend the money saved on a RB.
(unrealistic that we buy both a RW and a RB though, and unfortunately no links of us being interested in him)

There's got to be cheaper alternatives to Antony out there but our scouting is so crap that we can't rely on the club to effectively identify these targets. So as usual we're left with a shallow pool of obvious, expensive targets who are unattainable in this window.

I just hope Arnold and Murtough aren't blowing hot air and actually are working to improve all areas of player recruitment by next summer.

We have existing options at RW or RF depending on how ETH uses the players. Sancho and Elanga can play there with Amad another option. The type of fullbacks supporting the wing is also important, where there is a chance that the fullbacks will be in charge of the wing (wingbacks essentially) and the wingers will be dropped in favour of a forward role.

If we were to sign someone from Chelsea, I would make it Pulisic instead of Ziyech. I think Pulisic could be very effective at RW for us.

55mil. Has been playing on the left and right.

His numbers are really really good. 13 goals and 12 assets.
does diaby have a release clause because without one I would be surprised if you get him 55m

If we keep Ronaldo and with Martial playing well striker is sorted. Rashford can play left wing and Martial can certainly play there as well. RW we have only Sancho and he is right footed.

I would love Anthony or someone of his quality to come. We need options on the RW.

We'll sign Antony, he is currently injured so probably why there isn't a rush

Not the type of business United would do but, Giovani(18) from Palmeiras. Possibly going to Ajax if they sell Antony.
