Good player, and I'd be all over it if we got James, but we need a specialist right winger next season, rather than a player like Fraser who can play on the right but is more comfortable on the left.

That said, if he's free, then he, James, Rashford and New Winger would be good options to have.

Admittedly I've only seen a handful of games where Dan James is playing but he actually really reminds me of Ryan Fraser in terms of style (and stature come to think of it!). Not sure if we would need two of the same player but I do rate him.

A bench option/cover is ideal though for me. I'd like him plus a big RW signing *cough Sancho cough*

Sancho isn’t going to sign for any club without Champions league football. I’m really not getting why anyone would think we stand a chance of getting him. We need to build a team that can compete for a champions league spot, we certainly look well short of that presently.
Fraser could strengthen our options, as our attackers seem to be made of glass.

If that s true, why should we get another players who s comfortable mainly on the left.. We have James, Rashford and also Chong

I think we have a chance if we're promising other signings, personally. Agree that Fraser would help with some much needed depth.

I remembered we were interested back in summer but couldn't agree on fee. I am not surprised if we come back with another offer in January.

He's good but James looks best played on the left. He's doing well too. What would the plan be? James and Fraser battle it out for the left?

I'd sign a striker and a RW (Werner and Sancho please!) before I looked at the LW spot.

Come to think of it I'd probably sign...2 CMs, a RW, a ST and a LB before I looked at signing another LW!

Rashford should be our backup left winger, which means I would prioritise a backup striker.

Hasnt he been playing on the right recently? He seems almost like he doesn't have much of a weaker foot.

Good player, albeit a bit square. Created the most big chances in Europe after Hazard last season. Or some such stat.

Kinda amazed that we are to the bare bones of a squad but fans dont want a player that's hardworking, productive, technically sound, brilliant from set pieces, british, strong on his weak foot and premier league proven?

Most fans agree West ham had a better attack than ours on Sunday but Fraser is better than yarmenlenko, if our club snub this guy in January then it shows how awful our planning is of recruitment.

Do you think Saka’s development can change that?
Saka is only 18 year old and he is not ready as a starter yet. Ryan Fraser will be available for a cut price sale in January or even free for next summer. He is at his prime right now and his salary probably not going to be over 150k/week so there is no reason not to bid for his service. You will never have too much quality in your team and competition is a good thing. We are not like Man City and has 2 quality players fight for each position. Whether he will pick us ahead of other interested parties is another story.

He can play either on the left or right. He's right footed. From the left, he can cut inside to shoot, or actually go outside and cross properly with his left. From the right, he can go outside to cross with his right. He's not going to be so good cutting inside from the right. He will be a massive upgrade on Lingard, Mata, or Pereira as he's a natural winger and a proven goal threat.

We need to fix the squad. That means replacing all the broken players and bringing in whomever we can get.
  • Ivan Rakitic to replace Matic (Garner as Rakitic's apprentice)
  • Fraser to replace Lingard and Pereira (James as Fraser's apprentice)
  • Mertens to replace Mata. (Greenwood as Mertens' apprentice)
The 3 players I want were all goal threats last season in Serie A or Premiership. They will fix 3 positions. They should only cost £50m total because 2 have contracts ending next June and the other wants to leave Barca, and Barca are in financial distress again. So must raise some money. OK, they are aged 30, 32, and 25. But we have some good youth players who will be apprentices to them.

Please forget about the £90m players. Glazers will only give you money for 1 per season. It will take forever to fix the squad with £90m players.

You keep saying Rakitic will replace Matic. No he wouldn't.
Mertens is a forward not a midfielder. He wouldn't replace Mata.

Ofcourse they will be good squad additions not necessarily to replace Matic and Mata.

Fraser is far better on the left and rarely plays on the right. We literally haven't signed someone whose best position is on the right wing in over a decade. It's madness.

That's why we'll do it

Try him once on the right, then set him competing with Rashy, Martial, James and Sanchez (as he'll come back) on the left :wenger:

Exactly. Why would we be in for him, even on a free. I would rather go for Brooks, who is a left footed right sided midfielder/winger, and possibly Lewis Cook, a solid if unspectacular midfield player, who would put a shift in at the heart of the pitch.

Why would we go for him? He is still better than what we have now. Given how our budget has been, we don't have lot of options and a couple of free signings would actually makes sense.

Brooks and Fraser would both improve United, as would Ake (either in central defence, leftback or as a midfield anchor) or Wilson as a forward option.

Cook would also be a good addition - Garner will be much better eventually, but he’d be a good, mobile transitional addition to fill the Herrera void.

I'm in for him if it's for free. Personally I don't think he's good enough if people are expecting him to be our starter. The expectation is higher here, but with our current situation, a free signing is no brainer for this guy.

He will be suitable for James & Rashford's backup. If we had this guy, we wouldn't be playing both Rashford & James together against Chelsea in the cup game & we could have rest at least one of them. He had one good season last season making a lot of assists and he took Bournemouth's corner kick as well which we also need to have someone who can take corner.

Except, it’s not free is it?

A 4 year contract at £100k per week is worth £20.8m, plus signing on fee and things like bonuses.

If you would think he’s good enough for, let’s say £40m, then why is he good enough at all?

It’s as free as signing as you will get. No one plays for free so I’m not sure what your point is

Weird timing. Thought he was pretty poor today, along with pretty much everyone else on the pitch.

It wasn’t because based on today’s game. I just think that we needs a backup for James & Rashford, the most realistic & cheap option I can think of is this guy.

Due to his short stocky legs, he tends to tackle like Scholes.

Seems like he will be a Liverpool player in the January window
