Chelsea showing us how it's done, not resting on their laurels of their CL win and continuing to improve their first team and squad.
We've just signed Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo ffs.

Like that Wolves game, our midfield is going to get picked apart with ease, it's far too unbalanced.

Let's face it, we signed Ronaldo as there would've been backlash from the fans towards the Glazers. Would've been 1 step forward, 2 steps back after the Super League debacle.

They had their crazy summer last window. If we were the ones with a midfield of Jorginho Kante and Kovacic we would not even consider Saul
We have Cavani, Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford, Pogba, Bruno and Pogba, and still reinforced our attack with signing Ronaldo.

Spot on. The sooner people realise this, the better.

This mythical being who enables Pogba to play in a two man midfield after trying and failing for years just isn't going to happen. I'm not interested in anyone talking to me about Kante, either.
The kante peddling ones always forget Matuidi.

You're digressing. How is signing 3 top class talents resting on our laurels? The quality of player we've brought in this season is as good as anyone. No one is going to argue that our midfield could improve, but expecting all of our issues to be sorted with top class talent in a single window is completely unrealistic. Why didn't Chelsea buy everyone they wanted last season? Why do City not have a shiny new striker? Why does Liverpool's bench still look pleasingly average? Were/are they all resting on thier laurels too?

You know why we got Ronaldo. You really want to insinuate we are as good as Chelsea in plugging squad holes in one transfer window

Pogba and Saul won’t work period, according to some bloke on the web who has never seen them play together. Then we know, great that we didn’t buy him then. Bullet dodged.
Also according to 5 years of Pogba failing at playing In a double pivot at United.

Because he is a world class player who outscored Lukaku (a signing everyone was losing their shit over) in both the league and the Euros?

Chelsea spent over 220m last season, and they still need to use spend another 100m+ this season?Sounds like they should've done a better job of filling their gaps last season...

Will the latter two get enough service from our poor looking midfield though is my big worry
Only City outscored us last season with the same midfield. We've added a CB that will allow the whole team to play higher up the pitch, one of the most creative players in Europe over the last few seasons, and one of the greatest goalscorers in history.

Yeah I'm not going to bother with this conversation

I am pretty sure we will be buying and selling players every transfer window. If no other deals happen, we have sold more than we have bought in this window.

Of course you will. It's no slight on the business you've done, rather, pointing out the ridiculousness of someone genuinely trying to use your window in order to criticize the window we've had when we've brought in the amount of talent we have.

You can look at that way, or that Kounde was at a price we were not willing to pay. We really were not ready to pull the trigger early in the window. We have a lot of depth at that position. It was not ever a deal that was necessay, it would have been a nice addition.

Use some intelligence. Too many blinded by stars who give us extra quality in areas where we were already strong. It is a massive mistake not signing a class central midfielder like Camavinga or Bissouma in the window. We are a top heavy side. How the hell can we be relying on Fred, McT and Matic this season with the likes of Cavani and Ronaldo up front. Seriously. We are soft in the middle. And it is bleedin obvious.

I didn't get that. Your window has been nothing short of spectacular. Very jealous of Varane, he is top top top. CR7 is still so dangerous. Sancho could develop into a world beater.

He's a kid who's not better than what we have and didn't want to come.

So you would have preferred that we hadn’t signed him then?

We were giving James regular minutes and we had Bailly as our backup CB, while our only out and out CF is going to miss a ton of games this season, and you want to tell me we were STRONG in these positions? You might want to think it through before you reply again.

Saul would only be worth the topic of conversation in the event Pogba is to leave. The issue is you pair Saul with any of United's midfield options and you have exactly the same issue with balance, no disciplined defensive midfielder to provide positional support to shield the defence.

But its Hakimi, Haaland and Kounde that you have tried and failed on. Not spending more isnt by choice or design. You haven’t actually signed a first choice transfer target this summer.
I think you’ll see a lot more sales in the next year or two of players you’re still backing and hoping to come good but clearly aren’t. That’ll keep your net spend down so the illusion of that lives on.

already strong? We had Greenwood playing with no recognised striker on the bench before martial came back. And martial I never considered a striker anyway. And you could argue that of Greenwood perhaps…was a time we had 4 top strikers. So no we did need Ronaldo or any tip striker nearly as much as a DM.

Some of you literally only care about transfers.
Yep, I’m already in mourning for the end of the window. Four goddam months of boring matches until I get interested in anything. It’s like World Cup and Olympics are still special because they don’t come round often. That’s identical to transfer windows for me.

Exactly. Compare our midfield options to our rivals. We lack. Chelsea have just picked up Saul Niguez. They already have world class talent in Jorginho and Kante. Plus they have Kovacic and Mount ffs. We have Fred, Matic and McT!
You do the math.
