As bad as Sanchez was he was worth the risk, it's just he needs to be off the wage bill now.

Without any doubt at all.

We're committed to something mad like 20m a season for 2 seasons, so just taking that wage bill down by 50-60% is an achievement.
Anything higher, or any sort of fee, and we've played a blinder.

Once again had very good game, Inter would be fools if they don't try to sign him permanently.

I don't think we can afford to be greedy here, should be about freeing up our wage will and a place in the team more than anything. Just take whatever a club like Inter offers and be done with it, I'd be happy with 5m for him at this stage

He'll have 2 years left on his contract this summer which is probably worth about £35m to him before tax over the next 2 years. He's 32 in 6 months time, United will let him go for free; Remember this is a player who's still costing us £10m this season despite been on loan.

To receive any fees for him is a bonus considering he earns around £20m a year in wages alone and he still has 2 years remaining on his contract.

Never want to see him in a United shirt again.

Won't forget his half hearted performances, constantly losing the ball and not running back, general throwing toys out of the pram attitude and not forgetting he's mammoth wages.

Thank god he's doing well at Inter since the restart. Some reports saying we could get almost £20m for him now. Bite their hands off!

What would we make of Sanchez if he didn't join United and went straight to Inter from Arsenal?

I feel his recruitment to United has damaged what could have been an otherwise graceful decline into retirement. This was in part driven by a grossly misinformed decision to bring him to United in the first place.

I find it funny that in order to get Inter to buy Sanchez we will have to convince them that we will take him back into the team after the loan ends. In order to convince Sanchez to join Inter permanently and on lower wages than at United, we will have to convince him that he has no future in the first team. Ed has his hands full.

Sanchez playing really well for them now. Scoring and assisting regulary. I have not watched much of the games though, but maybe he is back in fine form.
Could we use him in our side still?

Looks like the break has really been good for us, we are back in the fight for CL places and Sanchez decided to turn up at Inter which could earn us a few bob on top of getting him off our books.

Once again goal + assist, that's 10 goals + assists in 654 mins.

Go on my son. Life in the old dog yet. I'd be astounded if we get any kid of fee for him but getting him off the books without having to pay him off would be a great result.

Come on Inter, you know you want him

We should have bought him from Barca.. he was an amazing player .. Him and Hazard were the best players for me during those times

Keep notching up the goals and assists, Alexis! We’ll end up getting £15M for him and his wages off our books.

If we get even £10m for him and his wages off the books, then thats a good deal.

Getting his salary completely off the books would be great. Getting any sort of money for him would be unreal.

I was resigned to him being a perpetual loanee to various clubs, with us covering the majority of his wages, 'till his contract here expired.

From €20m we'll gift wrap him up too.

If we get him off the books this summer as well as Jones, Rojo and Lingard it’ll go down as one of the greatest windows for outgoings ever for us but if we manage to get a fee for him too that’d be outrageous. Pre COVID-19 I honestly thought we’d be stuck with him or have to pay him off but this is looking really promising, frees up the number 7 for Sancho.

As much as I agree with everyone here, there is a small guilty side of me that would be curious to see how he'd do for us if he came back and got a run of about 5 games

Ole just doesn't want him here, he's made that pretty clear multiple times.

He's said players that don't want to work with the team and want to go there own way will be shown the door.

He was clearly speaking about him and Lukaku.

He is better than Sancho still and we should keep him!

Not really, but he could do a job in our squad.

I mean it tells us everything we need to know about the quality of Serie A. Where players like Young, Sanchez, Moses, and Smalling can go and instantly look like really quality players. I’m not saying it’s a shite league, but there is undoubtedly a significant quality gap with the EPL. Not least in the physical demands. These case studies would indicate that it would be the perfect destination for someone like Lingard, who could enjoy a return to form in a lesser environment. Here’s hoping Inter continue their charitable works with United’s cast offs.

Credit to Conte. He’s seen the quality gap, and exploited unwanted premier league players who could be got a good price and make an impact in Serie A.
That's what I think every time someone says, "Well, he's doing well in Serie A." Yes. Yes he is. And that only shows us where Seria A is at the moment. And you may be right about Conte, hadn't thought of it in quite that way. If it is, though, another manager or two over there might pick up on it and emulate the strategy. Would make for some very interesting transfer window moves for the next couple of years.

I’m certain you’re right. I don’t want him either. I want Solskjaer to have the players he wants.

I’m just curious at how he would do if he came back. He’s obviously a very very good footballer who carried Arsenal for years. And seems to be finding his groove again.

Im very sure we won’t see him in red again. But when it’s official, I’ll still have a hint of sadness because it had the potential to be great but just never clicked

If we could offload him and get a fee for him it would be the best bit of transfer business ever performed by the club.
Heard PSG are very keen on him, I wish they make an offer as there is a chance we could get more if PSG are in for him.

Apparently his fitness was very poor when he arrived at Inter, perhaps that was partly or fully due to injuries, I'm not sure. Anyway I've read that Conte has put him on a new diet and fitness plan and that coupled with the break he has had has proved beneficial - it would seem.

If Zlatan can still do it over there at 38 and Ronaldo at 35 then there might be life in him yet. Getting his wages off the books is still the main thing, but talk of a transfer fee might not be as outrageous as I first thought but I just dont see how inter can afford to pay him anything close to what we are. As some have pointed out on here however the new tax regime in Italy might help him settle for lower gross amount.

I wish him all the best and hope he can revive his career over there, great player but for a combination of reasons it just didnt work out with us. It would be nice to see him get back to something like his old form, even in Italy as I'm sick of ABU's telling me that it was obvious to them before we signed him that he was finished.

Keep firing Alexis. We need Inter to buy him.

Even if we get £5-10m, as long as his wages are off our books we can replace with 2/3 players.

I'm sure if he REALLY wanted to rejoin us and do well he could, but he just didn't seem to enjoy it here for some reason.

As soon as he got the chance to join his buddy Lukaku at inter he jumped at it.
