Scholes suffered last season when he was asked to play 'in the hole' just behind Ruud van Nistelrooy, yet this season he has taken to the role superbly. Indeed, the 28-year-old now agrees that it is his perhaps best position. Sir Alex, though, reckons Scholes could play anywhere – and he means 'anywhere'.

“He is a terrific player and can play any position," said Sir Alex. “That's because he is a footballer. Scholesy could even play in goal! I'm serious. He used to do that in training when we were having kick-ins. If you needed to put someone in goal in an emergency you wouldn't worry about Scholesy. He'd love it. He can play anywhere. He might not be that big for the crosses but he'd be brave enough to have a go for them."

Where the goals come from.
Far as I know Scholes is still the "outfield goalkeeper" for if both keepers injured /sent off. He maybe short but he's great with his hands (fnarf) - just look at the amount of handballs he gives away in a season. Or his first this evening (HaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaaa!)

He's not very tall but he's taller than Scholes !
But the Mexican keeper is only 1,71 m, so...
