Not his best game but much improved in the second half.

Went missing in first half but better in second, lack of quality on ball from both him and Fred is an issue too often.

I really rate him, a big game player too. That bit of play right at the death was so good, drove forward with such confidence and really intelligent play to draw the foul.

His dribbling is great. Other than that, though, how can a midfielder misplace such basic passes?

He had one good run and one vital interception.

Otherwise, he wasn't good at all on or off the ball and displayed all of his technical and positional flaws today.

He needs to sharpen up his passing if he wants to play every week. Love the guy though!

Robbie Savage loves him, I thought he was invisible for 70 minutes but made a tremendous interception in the box near the end and had a great driving run to close out the game.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
He had moments of quality, but overall he was average at best. Really went missing in the first half, and there was one moment that really pissed me off. Milan won the ball and counter-attacked, McTominay just jogged back while Fred (who started further away) charged past him to try to help defend. McTominay is comfortably faster than Fred and had done less running, so there was absolutely no excuse for Scott to be lazy there.

He was poor. Just because at the end of the match he ran and got a foul doesn't mean he was good.

During the celebrations of the Pogba goals the pitchside mics picked him up saying to AWB "edge of the box next time".... after AWB fired one in to the box which ultimately led to a goal....

Up and down game like most players on the pitch. But when he starts running with the ball in extra time and we lead - there’s no better feeling. He’s the worlds vest player at passing three men and drawing a freekick high up the pitch.

And 20mins later Scott puts one across the 6 yard box with not a single Utd player in sight

Fecking dreadful. Aside from putting in a shift and having a good engine, the rest of his overall game is well below par. Ball retention, passing through the lines, zero creativity. This is the standard of a cm at our club.

Fred carried him a bit I felt which is often the case when Scott is playing deep. He isn't ready to play that deeper position yet really, he's best at being an all action box to box where he can use his physical prowess, dribbling and shooting abilities more often. It's possible that as he matures he'll grow into the deeper role but for now I think he needs to be rotating with Pogba as the more forward thinking midfielder.

As the saying goes - ‘Pogba is more talented, but you know what you are going to get from Scott every game (which I presume to mean a consistent 7/10 every week)’. Which of course, is nonsense. Even just looking at this thread after every game over the last two seasons, even the last two months, would show it to be nonsense, but it is continually rolled out.

So bad when he came on. Misplaced pass after misplaced pass. Allowed a player to drift by him with a tame slide tackle. Gave away the freekick. Failed to defend against the freekick properly. Completely at fault for the final goal.

I think McTominay gets too much leeway on here.

Assumed he’d come on for Fred at half time, based on his performance probably wouldn’t have made any difference, looked clueless.

Always felt like the type of player who should be playing for West Ham

He's having a dreadful season, really. He and Fred have both gone backwards.

Thought he was decent when he came on; injected a higher tempo, accurate passing; such a shame about the free kick.

Levels above Matic and Fred.

Gave away free-kick then failed to get his head to the ball at the back post, allowing Iheanacho to score. Awful defending.

When you see Ndidi playing for Leicester and McFred playing for us, it just breaks your heart.

Watched Fred give one of the worst performances of his career, came on determined to prove he’s still worse

He came on with some fire in his belly but soon started to match the dogshit level of Fred and Matic.

Back in midfield for Scotland and a really good performance. Was MoTM. Hoping Clarke keeps him in midfield rather than at CB.
