Scottish Football 2025-26 | Can Hearts dae it?

Thankfully it was more handbags than actual violence. Very convenient that the Rangers fans brought their ski masks. What's the chances of that. Im sure both clubs will be punished.

To be fair I always pack my ski mask and sunglasses when I go out in Scotland

Didn't a lot get in through the turnstiles without tickets as well.

Yep. They moaned they wanted the allocation back, and first chance they get they remind everyone why it was cut in the first place.

Rushed the security checks.

Rushed the turnstiles

Then came on to their rivals pitch to celebrate at the end of a game.

Union Bears aren't much better, but not sure how Utd fans would take it if Liverpool or City fans would come on to a pitch to celebrate at the end of a game?

Absolute gimps, the lot of them.

Celtic fans barging through turnstiles.

Celtic fans running onto the pitch at full time.

Rangers fans deciding to run onto, but thankfully Celtic fans legged it.

Both fans are an embarrassment to Scottish Football.

the third part isn’t true from what I saw, Celtic fans just sang at them to go home and eventually the kids in masks ran away

Tbf it's about only thing that makes Scottish football interesting.

I don't think that happened pal. Not condoning the behavior from both fans as they are idiots. Clear as day though, the Rangers fans shat it when they realised their mates didn't back them up and the amount of Celtic fans.

How did the Celtic fans get off the pitch when their mates did decide to come on, did they just suddenly take the advice of the stewards?

Wrecked the stand apparently, forced their way through disabled entrances, singing songs about the deaths of ex Rangers managers and staff, graffiti mocking the ibrox disaster. Usually seems to be the absolute dregs of society that follow Celtic in these games, not sure how they usually end up getting an easier ride in the press either. But then that green brigade are a right horrible, I remember they hung effigies of dead rangers fans once too which was really twisted. Rangers fans obviously have their own scumbags but all of that was triggered by Celtic’s hooligans and the police’s failure to do their job adequately.

Yeah, I always struggle watching this pair play because I can't stand either of them.
Really hoping Hearts can pull it out this year.
I'm from Belfast and the trouble this fixture generates is why I am anyone but old firm.

I remember when lovenkrands scored the winner in the Scottish Cup final to beat celtic 3-2 the 32 north bar in ardoyne emptied and there was hundreds of people on both sides fighting on the streets.

Yeah rangers fans would never do anything twisted like that

Listened to the reporter on Talksport who was at the game, he blamed the clubs for letting these ultra groups form and doing nothing about. There has just been a Rangers fan on now, who said the police were sat outside in their wagons and did not appear until it was well and truly hitting off. He also said you cannot expect stewards, who are on minimum wage and are quite often bits of kids themselves being left to deal with this. This is the polices job.

What can the clubs actually do to stop them forming though?

I mean, they haven’t though? Either way stop fibbing and saying they didn’t really do much wrong when they actually incited the entire incident and did everything I mentioned. I’m not interested in getting tit for tat nonsense with Old Firm fans by the way, just correcting what you said and shining a light on their lowly behaviours today.

No didn’t you read?!?! It’s only dregs that follow Celtic and some scumbags for The Rangers!! A clearly nuanced take on the two teams’ support
Actually I did say Rangers “have their own scumbags”, I’ve witnessed it first hand, I did not say they had any less or any more than Celtic. So again, please don’t lie about what I’ve said or misquote me, if you’re concerned with nuance then at least read the post properly, be more honest and don’t make stuff up! You guys are obviously keen on Celtic and that’s absolutely fine of course, it doesn’t change the fact their fans were a disgrace today and kicked that whole incident off, not use in fibbing and pretending all they’ve done is have harmless jog onto the pitch and then leave again.

Pathetic behaviour from both sets of fans, which isn't uncommon for either side.

I don’t give a feck about either club. I just always find it funny when one side pretends all the other side are utter bastards and have done everything wrong, whilst their side hasn’t. You really think the rangers fans weren’t singing vile songs during the match and being utter cnuts after the it either?

My reply highlighted the fact that your post wasn’t balanced at all. You claimed Celtic fans were the dregs of society whilst rangers “have some scumbags”. Cmon man. You can’t be that naive? I get allegiances but they’re as bad as each other. A true stain on Scottish football on days like this.

Mocking the 66 dead particularly classy.

Doubt we'll see Celtic get the full Broomloan for a while.

I expect nothing less from Old Firm. Both of them have a notable section of neanderthal deranged zealots and a lot of them have never and will never get out of that teenager mentality where football is the only thing that matters, live vicariously through whatever team is theirs and act irresponsibly with no thought of what they’re saying. They trivialise actual tragedies to the same level as a football match result.

Sums it up nicely.

Uses to have a slight disposition towards Celtic years ago but couldn't be arsed about them now.

Hope Hearts can hang on. Long overdue that someone outside the Old Firm won the league again

I said some who follow them to these games tend to be, as has been proven by the events of the day. So again, you’re sort of twisting what I said. If you don’t care about either club then why are you doing that? And for the second time, I didn’t say Rangers “have SOME scum fans”, so again don’t talk about nuances then flat out lie and misquote me. I really hate that.

I don’t mind acknowledging they’re essentially two cheeks of the same arse (you only need to see some of the footage from outside the ground to see Rangers chavs at it too), but I’m also not going to be misquoted just for correcting someone who was attempting to imply that Celtic fans only wrong doing today was running onto the pitch and then off again, because it’s blatantly untrue. I wasn’t the one who said “and rangers fans would never do that” and turned it into tit for tat guff, that was your friend further up the page, so maybe wind your neck in!

Hearts hanging on would be the best thing that’s happened to Scottish Football since Sir Alex at Aberdeen.

Well at least you recognised that mate! That’s progress for any fan of the Glasgow Derby!

Hearts winning the league would be fantastic for the Scottish game. Shame Motherwell lost on Saturday.

Though you are correct, it really is similar to us and ' the sun was right' crowd infecting our terraces.

How many times have we heard the 'Munich Song' and 'banter' regarding 'dying on a runway' from opposition supporters?

Celtic and Rangers are usually stigmatised as a heightened, special case, usually by people who don't understand the core schism (conflict and the subsequent fallout in Ireland).

Realistically, they're both indicative of a wider culture. One which really needs stamping out wherever it breeds.

The match itself, the quality, or lack of, was shocking. That's as bad a Celtic team as I've seen in years. I appreciate they've Tierney, McGregor, Johnston, Jota, Carter Vickers and Engels out injured. All starters, then they've squad players like Ralston and Osmand also out. Sarrachi although on the bench,, if fully fit, probably would have started with Tierney out, Iheanacho I believe would also have started. It just shows you though, I couldn't take my eyes of the game, probably only the old firm can serve up that poor of a game yet still keep the viewers enthralled. For the money Rangers have already spent on loan fees etc, the return they've got is poor. Olsen who I though was a good transfer, and maybe he eventually will be, was terrible. That one corner he played like a back pass was woeful. He was playing against a make shift full back in Scales and did nothing. He's 40 caps for Denmark. I think even with Celtic's injured players back, they still need major investment. Rangers have 4 games coming up in the league that they should win, the league is their only hope of silverware. I think if you're Hearts and you watched that, you'd very strongly fancy your chances.
