Scottish Football 2025-26 | Celtic sack Nancy after 8 games

Hearts going to finish below this Rangers aren't they.....

Celtic losing 2-0 at home to Hearts.

New manager Nancy first game in charge.

Celtic been doing better recently and he comes in and immediately changes to a back three because that’s his thing.

Why not just keep the continuity and maybe work on the back three over time.

What is it with these managers who use a back three and their refusal to look at the context of what’s going on at the club.

Especially against your title challengers. Save it for one of the many other lesser teams

Bad start by Nancy

Instead of settling in and following the winning template that O’Neill had established he changed to a 3 at the back system and promptly got beaten.

I really don’t understand the obsession with 3 at the back with coaches. Especially in Scotland were Celtic are still arguably the best team. Why would you change a winning formation to a more conservative one?

More of a problem of the managerial recruitment than Nancy himself. He was well known for playing a 3-4-3.

Good for the league that Hearts won...if Celtic did then they'd be on the charge and there would be no title challenge again. Still might happen mind you.

Sigh. Another loss. 4-2 on penalties against Forfar Athletic after a 1-1 draw. Don’t even know what tournament this is.

Well done St Mirren, fully deserved league cup winners.

Celtic - dear oh dear, who the feck have you appointed here? Looks as bad an appointment as Russell Martin. Why did they just not let O’Neill have it till the end of the season?

I don't think he wanted it until the end of the season

Nancy is dreadful

Genuinely have no idea who he is, feels a bit like Ronny Delia for those who remember him a decade ago? Job too big for him etc.

Got this guy from the MLS, did he achieve anything in European football as haven't checked on wiki.

Celtic should've just kept MON up to the winter break (if that is still a thing up there) and then looked around for managers as they had real momentum under him.

Edit: Just had a look at Nancy's Wiki, he has actually never managed in European football. Weird hire from Celtic that. If they wanted a solid pick from MLS then Dean Smith would've been logical.

Celtic board are nearly as bad as Rangers.

Changing the manager before the Hearts game and this final made no sense at all. Give MON to Christmas then sort out a manager.

Anyone watching the derby? Used to be a cracker back in the day but feel it’s always been a let down in recent years. This one has started feisty at least.

Im watching, decided to tune in today because they've been talking about Wilfred Nancy on the radio quite a bit. First time I'm watching an old firm game since the mid-2000's and feck me, the quality is so bad. Feels like a Sunday league match

Celtic finding it to easy to get behind rangers defence

Kasper Schmeichel just gives me Andre Onana vibes. Brutal goalkeeper. Only probably made it because how good his dad was.

That goal by Yang was quality. Hoping for a draw so Hearts can keep pulling ahead
