On Macern's team.
You mean you don't want to see Joel Pereira in goal, Ricardo Pereira (who I've seen us linked with) at RB, and Andreas/Matheus in midfield? Dream big, man! Pereira United!

I'll second Nathan Ferguson. Can play any of the defensive positions, so he'd act as cover at least.
Hehe.. forgot about Joel, but don't think he'll make it here with DDG and Henderson.
Just a bit frustrated with all the "Perreira" out there, probably some confusion because of the pronounciation similarities with Herrera in English. ;)

I may have put the i in the wrong place (on every single case) at first. Luckily I noticed I'd made the mistake before I hit post reply!

How's the lad at Stoke doing, whom we were linked to in the summer? He's a CB I believe, built like a tank.

Also, not a championship player, but Ben Godfrey, again someone we were linked to?

John Swift, midfielder at Reading, puts up good stats and looks a good technical player from the snippets I've seen of him. Ex Chelsea youngster from the days when it didn't matter how good you were there you weren't going to get first team chances.

Nathan Collins is the Stoke lad you're thinking of.

I think Chelsea are looking at Godfrey I've heard.

2 assists and 1 goal for Eze today
Olly Watkins with 2 goals
Mbeuno scored 1
Benrahma scored too and played well
Bowen bagged the only goal of the game for Hull

On Collins, they haven't picked him since August, they are seriously struggling.

Seriously think we need to raid the championship this winter. Were in dire need of reinforcements for our midfield and attack.

He flitters in and out of games too much, not sure a side with top 4 aspirations would gain much from him to be honest.

As far as Brentford's BMW go:

Benrahama is the easiest to get out of the three Villa defnitely wanted him in the summer but baulked at the £20m price tag put on him but all the noises were that if someone came in with close to that he'd probably push for a move. In terms of styles of play I'd put him as the Championship version of Eden Hazard, similar build and similar silky dribbling skills. Started the season a bit slowly but was recovering from an injury and maybe ruing the fact he didn't get a move to the Prem. Plays wide of a very fluid front free so who would he replace at United - probably Daniel James. Obviously not as quick as James but will score and assist more than him I'd wager. Given the league position and conrtact he is on it's going to take at least £20m I'd say to get talks going.

Watkins believe it or not is playing his first season as a centre forward having joined as a wide attacker and having been played as one for the last two seasons. To be honest it started slowly for him and lots of fans doubted he had it in him to play that role despite Dean Smith's, Thomas Frank's and Phil Giles' (one of rht DOFs) insistsnce that he would make the tranistion to CF at some point. He has been superb in the role though and his all rund centre forward play has improved immensely. He can hold the ball, bring others into the game, scare the life out of defenders with his pace and strength and most importantly put the ball in the back of the net. However who's he going to replace at United and to put him on the bench would be a crime against his development. He also signed a new contract in the summer so again you are looking at £20 plus million to even get talks started.

Mbuemo - now this lad looks top draw, pace, skill and can finish. It raised a few eyebrows in France when he moved to the Bees as he was considered the top talent outside of Ligue 1. In a league like the Championship that is notoriously tough to acclimatise to this lad has 10 goals and 4 assists already. Considering it took Maupay a full season to get up to speed before his amazing feats of last season this bodes extremely well for his future development. I'd say the chances of getting him in January are zero unless you are talking silly money.

All three are technically very capable of playing in the Premier League but I hope they'll be doing it for Brentford in the very near future if not then I am sure it's going to cost the buying club a pretty penny to get them.

I'll just leave this bit of filth here - I do love Benrahma and his ability to embarass:

Eberechi Eze - Aside from the cool name he's 21, unfortunately plays left wing primarily. Great dribbler and super confident.

Saw Eze live a couple of weeks ago, he was great. I think Brighton, Wolves or Bournemouth are sniffing about. It's hard to say how he would adapt to the Premier League but he has a lot of the technical foundations for a forward: hold-up play, a good strike, can pick a pass, etc. Promising talent.

Not sure Brentford will sell anyone for once this window. They have a small chance of top 2 and think they'll certainly finish in the play offs.

On their day they're as good to watch as Leeds imo especially at Griffin Park.
This.

Still can't undestand why Dean Smith didn't push the DOF at Villa to sign Maupay instead of Wesley :houllier: Especially when he claimed he signed him for Brentford :D Good to see him put his dodgy run to bed though today with a good victory at Burnley :)

Even though he plays for that lot I have to admit he's a very hot prospect, in my opinion he has the required pace, skill, goal scoring ability and strength to make it in the Prem. Hope he does go in January to be fair :D

 fair enough. I don't think he'll leave this year. I hope QPR can hold onto him. I was also impressed with 22 year old (and man of the match) Bright Osayi-Samuel. He got a brace today.

How’s Jarrod Bowen doing?
Brilliant, pretty much carrying Hull at the minute. Very clever player, i just think if you want to be top four he falls slightly short of the quality needed, he plays right wing, i think Buendia would be a better signing for the position, United need signings in central midfield alot more than Bowens position.

He actually did but our DOF thought he was too much at 20m. Odd when we then signed a poorer striker for more! We messed up the striker situation and it's cost us points.

Actually didn't realise Nottingham Forest could go within six points if they win their spare game, they've done well although not sure they've got that extra gear to get automatic.

I watch them a few weeks back when they played Wigan and they were hopeless. Play offs for sure though.

Michael O'Neill seems to be working the magic at Stoke. Took over when they were rooted to the bottom. Has them out of the relegation zone now. Hammered Huddersfield 5-2 away last night.

Great coach, hopefully gets to show what he can do properly next season and build a good team.

Oh dear - I did find it odd!

Forest are the epitome of solid and unspectacular - Lamouchi has them doing just about enough to get the points, highlighted by them being the lowest scoring team at home in the league (11 or 12 goals I think). It's not pretty but effective and if something happens to Grabban I think that's them done, although their owners may splash out in January.

Bellingham would be a great buy. We could loan him for a year to help Birmingham get promoted, and could be a back up to Pogba while Pogba is 28+. Having England's best talent from the 2000, 2001, and 2003 generation would be a strong intent to dominate the 2020s.
Mason Greenwood and who?

Angel Gomes? I don't think you would find many people agreeing with the label of England's best 2000 talent. Maybe a few years ago, but no chance that people think that presently.

He looks like a real deal, especially at his age. Sign and loan back.
A guy at work is a Birmingham fan and was raving about this guy, says he's the real deal and will end up at a top club. Regular starter at 16 i believe.
I've only seen clips on Youtube so really not the best judge but he looks physically very impressive for a 16 year old. Technically he's still very raw, so it'll probably be at least a good 2-3 years before he's ready for our first team. But he certainly looks a talent and someone we should look to buy and loan straight back to Birmingham.

Dependent on not getting promoted there are some players that would improve our squad depth in certain positions;

Brentwood:
Benrahma - LW/Free role. Class. Similar close control to Mahrez. Would offer us something more creative than the directness of Rashford on the left. I would say that he would be a key player for over half of the teams in the Premier League, and would only struggle to be among the starters for 5 of the teams in the league. And for those teams, he would be a good rotational player.

QPR
Eberechi Eze - CAM. Eze and Benrahma are the best creators in the championship and are both technically brilliant players. Would not mind him as a backup for Bruno.

West Brom
Matheus Pereira. Technical and creative player like Benrahma, but left footed and playing on the right side. Can also play as a CAM. Not as good as Benrahma, but dependent on cost would be a good player to have in the squad and as a second option for RW/CAM.

Leeds
Kalvin Phillips. Dependent on promotion and cost. Most likely to perform better than McT and Fred in the role that Matic plays, and arguable a better footballer than them.

Brentwood, sounds like a place off a family sitcom

We've been linked with Rodon from Swansea too.

Ahh. Brentford, my mistake. Only on the opposite side of London of Brentwood.

Rodon is decent. More reliable than Bailly and Jones, and more physically suited than Lindelof.
I was just jesting mate.

Yeah for a cheap fee, he'd be a good squad options.

All of those you listed would be good options, Benrahma has been linked with Chelsea hasn't he? Eze was linked with Spurs a while back also.

The question would be the step up but his profile is exactly right for a team that wants to press high and impose their game on the opposition. Would potentially provide the defensive balance in a team with that particular style due to his dynamism. Pogba next to him would make it a very balanced combination due to his playmaking from deep and box to box capabilities.

Will Leeds sell to us though and specially if they come up? Benrahama could be interesting one if we don't get Sancho with Greenwood showing the massive progress?

Leeds probably won't sell to us now that they're looking good for promotion.

I don't know much about Benrahma but he seems to be courting alot of attention with his performances.

Agree. He could even slot in to his old CB position in a back 3 or even games we would naturally dominate but need a bit more passing range from the back.

Greenwood is a centre forward. He could be world class. He won’t realise his potential if we play him wide right.
