"We have a clear objective to return Manchester United to the top of domestic and European football. We want to keep investing in the team and improving our facilities so fans get the best possible experience. We also need to make sure the club stays financially sustainable taking into account inflation and rising costs.

It is within this context we have made the decision to increase Season Ticket prices by around 5 per cent across all areas of Old Trafford.

This equates to just over £2 per game on average for adult Season Ticket holders, and £1 per game for under 16s.

The lowest price for an adult general admission Season Ticket at Old Trafford will be £646 – working out at £34 per match across 19 Premier League home fixtures.

Season Ticket holders won’t pay more than 1/19th of their Season Ticket price for any home match in any UEFA or domestic cup competition. "

Not surprised by the price increase, £2 extra a game isn't that bad really. Euro away collections being reinstated though which is great news, might actually be able to get to one.

So how much is that since local lad Jim took over?

£2 increase per game isn't bad.

Euro away collections returning is interesting. Not sure why it can't be done through the app like home tickets but with a ban on forwarding. The collection points are always miles away from the ground.

Biggest issue is still category pricing for members.

Another above inflation rise. Throw in some expected cup games and it'll be a lot more next season. Wouldn't surprise me if Champions League games are more expensive too. Can imagine I'll just sell on more to keep costs down and watch on tv.

Another 600 seats in South Stand going to hospitality - they have completely gutted that side of the ground now.

People happy with 5% which is why they do it, will be that minimum every year and average STs about £1k by 2030.

No mention of members pricing which is already a disgrace, no doubt all Champions League games should we qualify will be Cat A

Wasn't aware of the South Stand thing. That's proper shit.

Again, £2 increase isn't the end of the world but category pricing is the worst especially with like you say, Champions League matches will all inevitably be the highest price.

It's not a £2 increase in isolation though is it. STs are now up on average 21% since INEOS took charge of operations.

I could kinda see it at 1st as they hadn't gone up in near 10 years iirc whilst everything else had been increasing, but it's gonna 5% every year isn't it, my ticket was £703 4 years ago it's £855 now and soon be £1000 and I am in one of the areas where usual tickets prices were/are fairly low

Could see a 10% next year if we establish ourselves as a Champions League club again - they are getting no real pushback.

Cup tickets capped for season ticket holders.

I'm surprised they aren't charging us for forwarding tickets to members (yet)

That would be insane especially when they essentially already charge for members for the privilege of getting a spare off a ST holder.

One thing I'd wish they bring in though is some kind of limit on the forwarding of home matches to allow you eligiblity for applying for aways.

It never sits well with me that someone who forwards on 13/14 games on per season is viewed the same as someone when applying for aways as someone who actually turns up every game.

That is a rare good bit of news.

Brace yourself members though...
I'd heard a rumour via a mate who used to work in the ticket office said that had we qualified this season, league phase matches would have actually been lowest category price with each round then going up from C to A and beyond. We can't charge different prices for different matches in the same phase.

Remains to be seen about other European competitions though that same mate said that if we'd qualified for the Conference League in 2024, they wanted to make reduce all prices by 25% for that competition.

£855 for me now I can see this tipping a grand before long
Mine has gone over a grand with this increase. Used to be priced at what yours will cost you this season.

Its always been this way with UEFA competitions. Each knockout round in 2008, the further we got, the ticket price increased

Yeah but the difference now is that with category pricing is that they could, in theory, charge whatever they wanted for the league/group stage games. The suggestion was that they'd charge category C prices rather than category A or B.

New stadium ticket prices are going to be insane, they’re raising it gradually now to make it more palatable.

New matchday tickets at the new ground will cost £100 + and a day at the match will be a once a season treat.

The whole game is fecked and the only reason why I'm finding this current increase slightly more palatable is I'm not far away from sacking the whole thing off and I'm trying to enjoy what's left of the club I've grown up watching before everything becomes too expensive and extreme.

Does the club use ticketmaster... if they don't they will soon.

then get ready for a whole new wave of add ons and made up fees that increase the price by 25% , while at the same time restrict who you can give them to

5% was expected, not great but at least they didn't feck us with any more rules on minimum usage etc

Demand is still high at the moment - people even happy to pay members prices so it's only going one way

I won't be shocked if they charge Season Ticket holders more for Champions League games then the league rate.

Doesn’t it say European games will be the same as a 1/19th of the ticket price for PL games?

It says will cost no more than 1/19th of a ticket. I’m still unsure what this means in real monetary terms.
Doesn’t it just mean that the price of the cup games won’t be any more than the cost of a league game for ST holders?

It’ll be more interesting what the club do with any STs that aren’t renewed. Berrada et al., before he left city, made the decision to not offer out any new STs so any non-renewals are just sold on an adhoc basis

Ah right makes sense.

There’s plenty of people on the waiting list, I’m wondering if any will be offered to cup ticket holders from the previous season.

Yeah. Not sure we’re in the same boat as city as people don’t tend to not renew.

The view from MUST:

Ticket pricing announcement from Manchester United

Earlier today the Club announced next season’s ticket prices and other changes for season ticket holders. As ever, it's a mixed bag but we do think that via the dialogue we have had with the Club we were able to achieve a better outcome for supporters.

In case you haven’t seen the Club email the headlines are:
A 5% increase in season ticket prices, rounded to the nearest pound
600 more fans moved from near the dug-outs to create more hospitality seats
The reintroduction of collections for Euro aways to re-establish integrity of credits
No increase in the ST usage requirement from 16/19 (they had originally planned to increase to 17/19)
No new restrictions or charges on ST forwarding
No minimum personal usage requirement that some other clubs have introduced
No further changes to concessions
Reintroduction of ticket allocation data publication for home and away games
Maintaining the 1000 home ticket allocation for our official supporters club branches
This update only covers the contents of the club announcement today and there may be further updates - not least the member ticket pricing decisions for next season.

MUST supported an FSA campaign calling for a league-wide freeze on ST prices for next season, so on that level a further 5% hike (close to double the inflation rate) is a disappointment. Supporters are paying more and more to watch their team, and as the FSA campaign said: enough is enough.

We’re also really concerned about 600 more fans being moved from near the dug-outs to create ever more hospitality space. We understand those fans affected by this will have received notification in their email and will be contacted by phone over the coming days. Those fans who were moved last year were often very unhappy with their experience. We are urging the Club to do better this year and offer each of those long-serving fans a really personal experience to find the best replacement seat for them.Just to restate our longstanding position we have always opposed enforced relocations.

That said, there are wins here for supporters - the reintroduction of Euro away collections is a positive, and we fought hard to stop the increase of minimum usage to 17/19, as had been originally proposed, so it remains at 16/19 for Premier League home games. Similarly there will be no further restrictions or costs associated with forwarding or resale and no personal usage requirement. These are good outcomes and much better than we see at many rival PL clubs.

Another welcome win for fans is the reintroduction of the publication of ticket allocation data for home and away games. When this was stopped it created much discontent and suspicion and we believe the club should be transparent with fans about this.

So aside from the headline price increase, which was not entirely unexpected, there are actually some welcome wins in here for fans and it is reassuring to see the club listening to fan feedback. In an era where every club is trying to wring ever more money out of us fans, the over-riding sense is that this year’s changes could have been worse. We await, of course, the prices for General Admission next season which under the Match Categorisation model have gone up a lot more than ST prices recently. We will be engaging with the Club on that next and, again, seeking to mitigate the impact on match-by-match attendees.

The fact that club are pushing for 17/19 game usage just sums up where we are heading.

its a shame that its gone up 10% in the last 2 years.. but im not surprised when you consider the decisions Radcliffe has made this last while. This new stadium money gotta come from somewhere.

Id rather pay the extra % on a season ticket to have, then have a membership and buy at the extortionate tiered prices they are charging per game now

I gave up my season ticket a couple years back because the steady price increases just became too much for me. The jump never feels outrageous on its own, but after a few years it really stacks up, my mates and I talk about it all the time. I still go to a few games each season and pick up single tickets here and there, but honestly, it’s hard to keep up when even a standard home match keeps creeping up in cost. Champions League games and cup games seem even more unpredictable with the pricing tiers. When I can’t get what I need straight from the club or I'm looking for something special, I usually look at sites like StarTickets.com for options. They have a big range of sports tickets and the platform is easy to use if you ever stop renewing your season ticket and want to still catch a match.
