He's behind Collyer who is out on loan at West Brom in the championship and has only just started to do well in his last 2 games. Most likely he will follow the same route after him and Collyer will be the one trying to break into the first team squad after his loan
I say this as someone who prefers Kone and doesn't see enough potential in Collyer to make it here. I expect Collyer to be a more physical Ugarte but about the same ability on the ball which isnt good enough.
I think Collyer may be readier than Koné (sort of), but I don’t think there’s a chance that the club see Collyer as a more promising talent. I don’t expect Collyer to play for us again, save for potentially pre-season next year. He’ll be sold, and it won’t be to Chelsea or Arsenal. If he’s lucky, he’ll join a promoted team and get a PL shot that way.
Kone is one the club have real first team plans for by all accounts, and when you watch him, you can tell quite quickly that he’s a bigger midfield talent than a lot of the other youth midfielders people are saying are ahead of him here.
