Injury to eye socket doesn't mean he can't cut it.
If he’s been out injured then he’s not physically ready.

He was headbutted and suffered a fracture. If he’s been out injured then he’s not physically ready.

Can you not see that means nothing towards being physically ready?
What's he supposed to do, work on his bone density?
Fair enough. It's hard to determine tone in your posts.I was being somewhat facetious, but my original response was to someone saying he’s “probably more physically ready than Fletcher or Lacey” - a completely baseless assertion given the fact that the latter two have been deemed physically ready for first team minutes.

I think the kid is massively talented, but if he was to mess up in a PL game he'd be crucified* on here.
*Figuratively of course.![]()
Would be good for him to get some real first team minutes there. Anyone know how Kana-Biyik is performing on loan there? I see he has scored one goal in 11 appearances but no idea if those were starts, off the bench or how he has generally performed. Was very highly rated when we snatched him up.
We already have one of the lads there. Is there a club connection? Is he going there because it’s the best club for him to develop? Highly doubt it.

Why? Swiss League is better than him being in League 1 and there are no guarantees of playing time anywhere in the Championship, regardless of ability, the days of those clubs doing any kind of targeted development job are over.Is he going there because it’s the best club for him to develop? Highly doubt it.
They're in the Conference League at least and should progress so he should hopefully get some European minutes which will be goodIs he going there because it’s the best club for him to develop? Highly doubt it.
Any reasons as to why?Not convinced that’s the best possible loan destination, but good luck nonetheless

If it was the only option yeah. I don't see why it would be though. If it's the only option it's the best option. He needs some time playing against adults.
Agree in general. We need a minimum of two centre mids in the summer, and if he shows promise now to be the 3rd that would save us a transfer bringing in a third. Where I disagree slightly is that even if we don't quite have the confidence to consider him as 3rd he would still get game time as 4th, given likely injuries and a greater need to rest with more games. 500 minutes or so in a season would not be bad for 20 year-old. My money would be on him showing enough for that, I very much hope so anyway. This is a good move. Hopefully he can play mens football for 5 months and come back next season in the first team squad.
We should be signing 2 midfielders, but the squad probably needs 3, and he should be the third as he approaches 20. If not, he should probably leave for his own good if we can’t even commit to him as 4th choice at this stage.
I think he’s a top talent though and if he can stay fit, he has every chance.
How often do loans actually go to plan? We recall half of them and very often they get feck all game time, having more control over the loan can only be a good thing. Is he going there because it’s the best club for him to develop? Highly doubt it.

To be fair you did say 'for his own good', whereas I'm just looking at it from the club's point of view.
Now I totally agree - because I'd forgotten about Mainoo. How I've no idea, I like him and hope for the best. Stupid me.Just to clarify, when I say he should be the 3rd, I mean the 3rd to join the squad. In reality, with Mainoo already there, he’d be the 4th choice - which I think is reasonable for a 20 year old that we believe in. If we want to bring in 3 and have him as 5th choice - then at 20, I don’t think that is good enough for him and he should probably go somewhere else. 20 is plenty old enough to play football, and while not fully ready - I think a 20 year old that a club believes in is certainly old enough to be 4th choice at least.
Good news that.
If it were Nice maybe, but Lausanne? I thought he was on the fringes of our first team so thought the championship or ligue 1 would have been more suited.
A bit sad about this one, hope he plays regularly and does well though.
He should be central to the squad at this level though and play a lot which is what he needs after losing time to his injury. It's also a club that's part of our ownership family so we can guarantee game time rather than him being sat watching from the bench. Hopefully he shows enough both in the league and in tougher tests in Europe to show he deserves a chance in the squad next yearIf it were Nice maybe, but Lausanne?
