Manchester United have signed Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for an initial 21m euros (£18.1m) plus add-ons.

More to follow.

Made the most saves and had the most progressive passes from a keeper u23. All the reading sounds promising

One thing I will say is that every single Manchester United goalkeeper in my living memory, going all the way back to Peter Schmeichel, bar maybe Edwin van der Sar, has had a very shaky start to their career.

Schmeichel was all over the place under the high-ball. De Gea made several errors. Howard and Carroll took it in turns to drop a clanger each weekend. Onana has never stopped dropping clangers. Bayindir belongs with Taibi in the 'comedy' bracket. Barthez seemed desperate to create mistakes out of nothing. Bosnich never looked like a United goalkeeper.

Point is, this kid will definitely, 100% make a mistake in his first few games because of the pressure of being a United goalkeeper. And if he doesn't, the media will pretend he did anyway. We'll have lads smashing them into the top corner from 10y and Gary Neville and the like will be saying "the goalkeeper could do better there for me".

Please don't fall for the ragebaiting. Young lad coming from a much weaker league, give him some time to develop

Man Utd 2:0 Sunderland
Excellent clean sheet on his debut. A few saves, couple of crosses easily saved. Very good start

Very solid debut that. One miscalculation which could've been costly, but apart from that very comfortable. Well done.

He looks and plays like a goalkeeper.

A welcome debut.

Did the basics so well, including communication, that it looks like self sabotage to have kept starting Bayindir.

He didn't feck around, kept it simple, made 2 excellent saves, came for the high balls.

Good Debut.

Feels good to have a proper GK who doesnt shit himself at every corner kick. First game and you can tell the players trust him already. Thats the most important thing, building trust at the back.

That’s a very good debut. Very vocal and communicative. Show aerial presence. Not being bullied during set piece. Not really tested, but did well in few attempts on target Sunderland had.

Still baffled that he didn’t start the previous games.

Hopefully he follows this up with a good performance at anfield.
That xhaka shot defo gets parried into the box with our last number one

Exactly! Good to see and incredible we didn't have that for so long. You just know Onana or the other clown would have done at least one stupid thing

Ok, it was Sunderlund and they're not very good. But he looked poised. He looked brave and he instilled a sense of calm that has been in short supply around these parts.

He's our #1 till he pulls an Onana...and hopefully that never happens!

Solid performance. Did the basics right and didn’t make any errors.

Not getting carried away though. If he starts against Liverpool then he could be in for a busy day.

Very good debut. Our first clean sheet of the season. Made a couple of decent saves, played it simple at the back and most importantly he came for high balls

He's clearly got a very long kick from both feet and likes to use it. Not sure he's a particularly accurate passer though. Obviously today wasn't a good game to judge that on, but it seemed that way from the highlights too.

Looks like a solid keeper though. Very happy to have someone with his calmness in goal after the last two...does feel a little like going from Carroll and Howard to VdS. (nearly two decades ago!)

Got nearly everything right. Although the one bit he didn't nearly undermined it all.

Solid debut. He wasn't tested that much but he did all the basic stuff and seems to have that calmness about him that you see in great goalkeepers.

Good block one on one, doesn't steer away from the ball. Calculated few cross trajectories quite okay.

Solid debut, looks calm and composed with good ball handling.

Literally just a regular, competent goalkeeper by the looks of things. Should be starting from now on, we already know Bayindir isn't it.

About a comfortable a debut as you could imagine, but decent couple of stops and crosses caught. Signs he can command the box are promising too.

I know he came and claimed a couple of crosses; they were very floaty and simple, but I understand why people are happy.

I didn’t think much of his kicking, most of them flew over Sesko’s head, but that’s being quite picky.

Takes some balls to be that confident in your first game. I remember Sergio Romano looked nervous at Old Trafford in his debut. Lammens didnt look like he give a shit. Really good performance.
