Takes some balls to be that confident in your first game. I remember Sergio Romano looked nervous at Old Trafford in his debut. Lammens didnt look like he give a shit. Really good performance.
Agreed. But what made me warm n fuzzy the most was that we *finally* seem to have a box commander again along the lines of a VdS and Schmeichel. Him yelling at our players was beautiful.

Early days obviously but im optimistic.

Did the basics well, which we have been starved off from the other two clowns.

He brought such calm to the defence and got a clean sheet. Hopefully more to come from him. Really good today.

After two seasons of the Onana:Altay double act, I thought the Old Trafford crowd showed incredible restraint in not having a full scale pitch invasion after he claimed several crosses without fuss and panic.

Early days, but he felt so much more confident and assured. Our first clean sheet since July, surely he now gets a run of games starting with Liverpool.

Really liked how calm he was. Looked like he was constantly on at the defenders also. Really what we’ve needed for a while is a very good solid keeper. Did the right things at the right times.

Horrible, awful, infuriating feeling to have been without a good keeper for so long, but now we finally have Lammens.

Came for crosses and claimed them. Saved the shots on his goal.

Very nice debut. Just keep that up and he'll be a very good goalkeeper for us for years to come

Brilliant performance, did everything you'd expect and that gives the outfield players confidence and enthusiasm to push on and not have goals undone. I really liked how he claimed a few high balls without hesitation, just knows his job. Also very vocal and high concentration, good to see him not being timid. Good variety of kicking.

Tough game away next.

He was so nervous that he set up his own twitter account afterwards and became an ITK instead.

He also seems to have an old head on his young shoulders with the awareness to run down the clock. A very promising debut.

Looks very promising so far..But need to see him handle them oppo argy bargy on corners against bigger teams.

Looks to be exactly what we’ve been missing.

That’s exactly what you want to see from a Manchester United keeper. Lovely save at the end to top up an impressive overall performance.

I’m still disagreeing with the idea that not putting him into the starting XI from the get go was the correct decision.

Thank Christ - a goalie that looks and acts like a goalie rather than a clown.

Excellent debut young man. Well done

Reminds me very much of Courtois, which is a massive compliment

Can't ask for a better debut for a young goalkeeper. Was vocal, was brave and his long balls I thought were effective. Will be interesting to see how he performs the rest of the season.

He was the big change. This goes to show how important it is to have a keeper that radiates calm.

He looks like Christian Nørgaard from Arsenal

Routine catches were bringing tears of joy for me and loud cheers from the crowd. It was happy and sad at the same time.

He looks like he has a monster leg on him. A few times he drilled a clearance over everybody right to the opposing byline.

Didn't have a huge amount to do, but generally looked comfortable and confident. Was good to see a keeper of ours claim an aerial ball with relative ease.

Agree. Unlike outfield players, GK doesn’t require as much running nor the complexity of outfield tactic understanding. So it’s much easier for a GK to slot right in if they have the required quality of goalkeeping and body condition.

DDG took a year off and he could get back to professional football at similar level where he left off (same flaws and same strength). Similar with other GKs getting lengthy serious injury and still got back into the team usually quicker than outfield players suffering same injury.

I was happy for him, but with a lot of things in football you do need a bit of luck. Really happy he ended the match with a clean sheet.

Play him and De Ligt from now on! please! let them develop an understanding.

No doubt Amorim will play a different CB in front of Lammens every week as per usual, but for one night we can all be happy with his debut.

Looks a proper keeper.

He will inevitably make mistakes. How he handle them will show what he is made of.

wish we'd brought him in earlier in the window, we dont need a world beater, just someone to keep things simple and give the defence one less thing to worry about.

Well. We have a goalie.
Even my wife was impressed by him claiming crosses. Very impressive and assured debut.
Ruben might have been right after all to save it for a home match against a smaller team than City or Chelsea. Great to see.

When in doubt catch the ball, waste some time (if youre winning), and hoof it forward. Thats what it was all about until Pep came in and ruined it for everyone.

Feck ball playing GK. I dont need any of those. Onana transformed us, oh yes he did transform us into a bigger joke.

Composed, took charge of the defence and dealt with his duties like any good keeper was. Shame Ruben held him back, as we’d very likely be in top 5 if he’d come straight in.

Good debut. Two fine stops and high claims. That decision to come for the long ball outside the box almost changed the narrative but I'm glad it didn't.

If he keeps that up, he'll be a legend  .
