I'm not the biggest fan of the series, far from it, but claiming you can skip season 2 is just nonsense. If you like the show you definitely should watch it regardless of plot advancement as you are most likely going to enjoy it quite a lot. And if you don't like the show why would you want to watch season 3 at all when it comes out?

Finally finished this. Loved S1 and S2 was ok but a big step down.
I didn't mind the ending but will depend on what S3 brings.
The main thing that bugged me was the reintegration but I reckon:

Why does it feel like every show that takes 2-3 years to put out a season shits the bed massively?

Having just finished the 2nd season, all I can think of is the way Hellie struts around those white corridors. It's mesmerising.
Just finished S2, and as much as I want to like it, I feel quite disappointed.
It's pretty and quirky and very well made, but this season was simply quite boring.

Yes it was really poor compared to the first and they certainly let the outside for season 1 get to them.
Off course you will get people saying it was just too deep and layered for idiots to understand but truth is they dragged the story out gave no answers and spent too much time on weird segments just because they could.

Shame that Tillman didn't win the Golden globe, but can't complain that it went to the kid from Adolescence. Although I'm not sure why he's being nominated for 'supporting' and Stephen Graham got the main one.

Wouldn't say negatively other than they took three years to come back with a season that did not move the plot forward at all.
They may as well just showed a picture of the cast the entire run time every episode and we would still be as far forward
It was awesome. Maybe some people prefer faster paced plot development. I love shows like this and BCS etc. And the plot did move forward, so I have no idea what that other poster is talking about.

Just started filming. Looks like we have another 2.5 year wait on our hands between seasons.
So, had for me what counts as a revelation the other day in regards to this show. There were many aspects of the severed world I didn’t “get”, things like the balloons and weird 15 minute parties, and mazelike corridors, and 10 dollar words said by the overseer, etc.
You probably all knew this already, but I realized that since they don’t know if their Outie is married, has kids, what kind of person they are, what interests they have, etc., they are basically in a childlike state. As children, they wouldn’t (necessarily) understand how offices are laid out, understand advanced vocabulary, they’d be confused over this weird corporate deification, and they would actually love a 15 minute dance party with balloons. Because they’re all 8 years old.
Near the end when Helly and Mark bang, they have been “maturing” in the Innie world, so now they are more like teens.

A very good point. So many shows seem to do this. It's like they caught lightening in a bottle I.e. S1 and then instead of giving fans more they make changes that make S2 just meh.
