On the bench v Everton.

Should hopefully see him in the 2nd half as him and Mount are the only attacking options.

I hope we dont put pressure on him, thats why, whilst amad Mbeumo and maz are still here, we need to be giving these youngsters some minutes. Shocked that he didnt even get 5 mins against Everton. This is where I think Amorim is creating a divide with the fans, his subs are awful and only wants to add the players who we are now assuming, causing problems to the culture of the club. Amroim messaging is confusing, his actions are confusing but he needs to test the youngsters in the next few weeks with some minutes to see how they react. It feels like hes just waiting for the chosen to do something, well the aint and Amroim needs to adjust.

There's no scenario that Lacey plays and he won't face pressure. He can't avoid pressure, and we shouldm't actively be sabotaging his experience to pressure situations. Everyone knows, fans, players and coaches alike, that Lacey isn't expected to come on and win games for us, so, he's not going to crumble under some pressure imposed on him. The expectations are only go out there and play with a bit of freedom. Win, lose or draw, it won't matter and fans aren't going to get at him for it.

Here's the truth; if you wait for ideal scenarios to give Lacey competitive minutes, he won't get any. Why? Because there are no ideal scenarios at United anymore. We don't comfortably get into a position to bring kids on these days.

You either play them when you can in competitive games you think they'll have a chance in, or you just leave them in the reserves, forget about them and then make excuses why they join another club and do well.

I agree he will always experience pressure no matter what but perhaps I did not fully clarify. Rashford was thrown into our team as the main striker, high level of pressure. Foden at city, eased in. Massive pressure difference on a kid. That was my only point re pressure.

Figured I'd quote you in here rather than post the tweet myself.

Don't recall seeing much of him. We thinking he'll play as a 10? Would he suit left or right more?
Definitely more comfortable on the right but can play center or left, I'd wager we don't have a similar player of his profile - I would suggest Foden in terms of how he plays as a profile

Another outstanding cameo for Lacey tonight. That's the three matches in a row he's impressed. His observations of the game from the bench are exceptional.

Pathetic Manager who doesn't get United. If you can't give a kid a game in the last 2 home games then this job is not for you

Was that his Premier league debut today?

Congrats to the young man. Nice touch and shot when he came on, but it was difficult circumstances.

Still baffles me why he didn't get a 10 minute run against Wolves.

His senior debut. Did well

If it was an easier game than Newcastle next I’d be tempted to give him a start because I think we badly missed a left footer in the forward line.

Looks like he from Liverpool.

Big achievement for the young lad, he did ok, had the confidence to take a strike on near the end. Wouldn't be averse to seeing him get more minutes.

Looks an exciting player. I really hope Amorim is getting it now, our need to see youth developed and given a chance.

Two or three academy lads getting a chance will buy him so much more leeway with fans.

Him and Fletcher coming on saved the game for me. Also loved how he was determined to take that shot. Next one will go straight to the far corner.

What I liked about his shot was how cleanly he hit it. I know it was straight at the keeper but for someone with only minutes under his belt, he had the balls to have a go and struck it well.

Showed proper attitude and willingness to be involved. Didn't look out of place in the Premiership. Hopefully will have an exciting future with us and gets some game time. Our squad is so thin, he should have been having minutes already

He showed good technique of course to got his shot away, but physically he still looked a bit lacking in the pace and power required to contribute much yet. Even his shot was fairly tame even though he put all his might behind it. He also seemed a tad lacking in alertness to a couple of balls which came his way.

I thought Fletcher seemed a tad more ready and able to get stuck in.

As an aside, it's crazy how much he resembles a young Foden in a number of ways (regardless of their respective potential talent levels).

He was the first youngster on the bench and probably the best talent around the first team too.

Now Fletcher and Mantato ahead of him go in?

So so strange.

Why in a game in which we needed attacking impetus was he not brought on instead of Fletcher?

Bro played 7 minutes vs Villa, dribbled round a player and hit a good long shot on goal despite only touching it once.

Fletcher did practically nothing vs Villa for 20 minutes, unless you include 8 five yard passes.

Result? Fletcher gets two full halves vs Newcastle and Wolves. Lacey gets none.

Well fecking done, you ass.

No idea what the thought process is when we’re struggling to create, we leave our most creative young player on the bench.

Its almost as if he wants to make his point about the academy.

Or push for a attacking player as a urgent signing, now we missed on Semenyo.

Lacey doing well will spoil it for him.

Ego. The manager’s ego at this point. If everyone is asking for it, don’t do it

Brings on every other kid than the one people calling for, and let them look like fools.

If Lacey is not the one to bring on then can anyone explain why Lacey, and not Fletcher, or Obi, or Mantato, has been on the bench for the last 8-9 games? I don't understand the logic.

If Lacey is the least ready, why wasn't Fletcher on the bench for the last 9 games instead? Make it make sense.
