How can anyone get that passionate about a club like Chelsea? Fair enough if you grew up on the Shed back in the running track days but even then you’d have given up. Most plastic club out there.
You support United ffs

Most romantic club in the world built on a success story and culture like no other in England. Not a Russian billionaire pumping his billions into a bang average nowhere club.

Club history is important to alot of people in football. You only have to look at the elite names to realise that fact.

Seems to get more "important" the further away from the top their team is.

Never heard the 'history' line used as bait once by a Real fan (not even to Atletico supporter's), United fans during the Fergie era or even by Liverpool fans (the ones responsible for escalating this bullshit) in the last few years.

Infact, you lot spent years ridiculing Liverpool fans for doing the exact same thing @Offside has just done.

Next year is our fecking year mate

There's family on my Mum's side. She has 5 siblings, all of whom have several kids, of which most have kids of their own. Chelsea mad, the lot of them. If you go down there, they'll be wearing Chelsea shirts (the younger generation) and it's all they talk about. Any time i've gone down there for parties, it's all Chelsea themed, even funerals. Weirdest thing is, my Grandad (the reason they all exist) was an avid Arsenal fan!

Most of them have been mascots at Chelsea, quite friendly with a lot of the ex-players etc. Especially Zola. Frank Lampard recognises a good number of them and knows the family, they've met him so often over the years. Apparently when he's seen them he's basically just picked up conversation from where they last left off. Nice genuine guy, apparently.

Reasonable bunch though, they know my Dads side are reds and they'll just talk normal about it. "you've had a better season, that Greenwood looks good." etc.

So i've grown up with it, I can see how passionate people are about Chelsea. And I respect the club much more than others out there.

Wouldn't be able to pull myself to support Alonso though. But they don't like him either.

All the culture of an LBO and getting the fans to pay the $1.17 billion debt off used to do it ? A real 21st century football romance that

Yeah they're in general does seem to be more mutual respect between the two clubs than most (although you wouldn't guess it from here lately  ), Fergie was seen hanging out with our board after a clash once (think it was after the Samuel Eto'o game) and Rio is a regular and welcome visitor to Cobham amoung other things.

Greenwood does look special, i had my eye on him for an England perspective for about a year before that but he really caught my eye when he single handedly dumped us out of the youth cup (and ironically stopped us beating the record of the Busby Babes).

Chelsea fans are the most benign fans of the other big clubs in England. Arsenal and Liverpool fans are the absolute worst, among fans of any teams in general, and I don't know any Spurs or City fans.
They are an odd bunch. Between the viciously racist cockney types and the Fulham residents who are mostly interested in Pimms and selfies, there arent many fans left to actually get passionate about the team. I've never really felt anything towards them.

Any time a fan of a bigger club lords their "history" over a smaller club, a glory hunter is revealed.
7 years without competing for the title. Damn glory hunters!

I'd have preferred to see an Arsenal fan meltdown to be honest.

That's a strange take on things. You've never heard a Real Madrid fan speak proudly about their history? I don't follow. Are you not allowed to speak in such a way unless your team is as the top?

No idea what you're taking issue with. United wound Liverpool fans up but you'll always find a mutual respect between each set regarding the rich histories both clubs share.

As we spoke about the other day you just seem to be having another dig at United and trying to WUM.

Not one of my posts made it. I need to up my game.
Boo. Traitor.

Edit: Also Chelsea fans in meltdown isn’t as funny as Arsenal fans. They’re not as deluded as the Scouse, Arsenal or as rabid as City.

So I can't defend my club against someone throwing shade at it? Very strange take that.

And what I said isn't that Real fans aren't proud of their history, they just don't use it to belittle other clubs, not even Atletico, but ofcourse you knew that was what I meant but that didn't fit this stigma you're trying to build of me.

I mean... you're probably exposed to Real Madrid fans far less than to fans of just about any English clubs. I'm sure they tend to gloat about their obscene amounts of European cups when they're debating Atleti fans. All football fans are like that: they lord their team's successes over the rivals, it's just what we do.

In the moment yeah they obviously do (I was in Spain during the 2016 final so can attest to that), what I mean is I've never seen anything of the "you ain't got no history" shet. Admittedly what I've seen is extremely small sample size but i highly doubt they went round shouting 32:10 (or whatever that number was at the respective points) as a reaction to Leti winning the league, beating them in the CDR final or finishing above them last year.

How many Real Madrid fans do you know and how much do you post on their forums?

It's not really a stigma. You just seem to spend your days on here defending Chelsea and trying to wind up United fans now. Seems pointless and is a shame as you used to offer much more!

You were like this with me at times even when I was "offering much more".

Rating Auba higher than Lukaku.
Rating Conte higher than modern day Jose.
18/19 predictions.
Refusing to agree United are better than us in every position.
And now defending my club against a glory hunting supporter.

Off the top of my head there are things that you somehow found a way to twist into me having an anti United agenda, it was mildly amusing at first (especially with the first two) but it's getting a bit old now!

I'm not sure what all of that refers to but the point still stands that you now seem to offer a sole purpose here of patrolling the forums looking for any criticism of your club. Ready and waiting to pounce. A coiled spring. A CFC Defender. A more mild mannered version of a Chelsea Headhunter of sorts.

I'm not sure what fun there is in that.

That's utter bollax, as I've already said a couple of weeks back, when there's legit critisism (like when a United fan made an article about Kante's performances this season) I've even commented agreeing, but ofcourse you didn't address that point but as I said it doesn't suit the stigma of me your trying to build (which has now gone up a notch with implying I'm a thug).

I did say mild mannered in my defence.

Considering I don’t live in the UK I’m not exposed to those sorts of fans  It really is astounding how Arsenal and Liverpool fans are almost the same everywhere though. The random ones I see on social media, the posters on here, posters in places like RAWK and ArsenalMania are all pretty much the same.

Chelsea is quite weird. Chelsea is seen as a posh place for toffs, and it is, whereas the reality for the club & stadium is its traditional support are a bunch of racist thugs.
Ah the old tar everyone with the same brush.

Imagine naming your football forum The ShedEnd. What kind of freaky is that?

I've got nothing against sheds, I'm not a 'shedist' or anything weird like that, it's just not something you'd name a football forum after.

Not sure if I'm taking the bait and completely missing the joke, but The Shed End is the name of the South stand at Stamford Bridge.

I didn't know that.

Why would you name the South Stand after a shed?
I actually don't know the exact etymology - prior to the all-seating mandate, it was the most raucous terrace and our support just started calling it The Shed. Changed slightly to The Shed End after it was reconstructed to accommodate seating.

Beyond that I can't help you I'm afraid!

Dan you're talking about a United referring to history but don't seem to understand the context. The initial dig might be silly or whatever, that's what football fans do though.
