Should Bayindir be our starting keeper?

Should Bayindir be our first choice goalkeeper?

I may be over simplifying this but we just need a solid gk. Nothing fancy. Just a basic 7/10 performer who's successfully good at doing the basics/fundamentals you'd expect from a gk.
 
He's already the starting keeper in the cups which is where our remaining meaningful football will be played. Make the big changes at the end of the season.
 
It’s worth a try, I suspect he won’t be much better but even if he just had a purple patch it would help.
 
I think in Onanas case there is a possibility we have been mismanaging him rather than him being a bad player.
I attend most games and the goalkeeper warmups consist of Bayinder in goals for the entire time while Onana is doing very basic passing and warmup type exercises. I think he is going into the game with no confidence. I think we should try getting some shots against him pre-match and see if he improves before totally writing him off.

Does anyone know what the logic is behind them doing this with the keepers?

I don't think that's the case, all of his problems are down to poor technique. This was pointed out before he was bought, his shot-stopping technique and the way he jumps too soon when trying to save are not affected by management. You can see videos of him in every team he's played, he made the same mistakes.

Onana started the last FA Cup game versus Leicester, which was strange considering Bayindir's heroics in the previous round against Arsenal.

Bayindir's started the last couple of rounds of the Europa League, but I honestly can't predict what starting keeper Amorim is going to go with in the next round. Wouldn't surprise me if it was Onana again.
 
Once we’ve secured staying up, I wouldn’t risk him in the league - the risk being to him. Let him carry us as far into the cups as we can go, Onana can flap as much as he likes in the league.

Thing is - as long as we re not scoring we can't afford to let any balls in the back of our net. At all preferably. Look at how DDG kept us in games where we were toothless for most of the game. So no, I disagree - we need a 9/10 goalie who is a true commander of the box - the likes of which we haven't seen since Schmeichel and VdS.

I think he's out for the next few weeks. Not sure what his injury actually is, but he did seem to have a hand problem in the last game he played.
 
Onana makes so many straightforward errors it is bound to affect every aspect of our defenders concentration levels, which, obviously, impacts on their own abilities. I cannot recall ANY goalkeeper who continuously pushes the ball into oncoming attackers, ten Haag has left us with such an overload of miserable, atrocious "talent".
 
When is Altay due back.

He should start every game until the end of the season, not just cup ones
 
It’s not even a question. Onana is a massive fraud. Can’t kick, claim crosses and can occasionally pull of decent saves.
 
He needs to cut his ties with Onana, know we have got injury issues but this guy needs some time out.
 
He shouldn't be number 1 at Utd..... but he should be given a try over Onana

But honestly we cant overthink this anymore. Just sign a fecking boring, experienced, 6'3, stable goalkeeper and ask him to try keep the ball out of the net. Absolute back to basics.

This. It can't even be a debate anymore that Onana should be out the side at the first opportunity and out the club in the summer.
 
Onana is the worst Manchester United goalkeeper since Paddy Roche.

Replacing him with a, set of socket spanners would be an improvement.
 
Bayindir, Heaton, someone from the U16, hell, I'd take O'Shea if he's up for it.
