Should Fred be offered a new contract?

Some murmurs that he will be offered a new 3-year deal. A fairly limited player who turns 30 this season. Should we really be doing this?

No. It was a mistake to sign him. He's worse than Ander Herrera. Why double down on the mistake?

He is so inconsistent. Can’t play in the team unless he’s able to press higher up. Any responsibility and he’s gash.

feck No.

Probably one of the worst midfielders I’ve seen play for the club. How he is still here is baffling.

His technical ability is a shame for someone from Brazil. He looks like he play with two left feet.

Yeah, probably.

2+1 deal on strictly squad player wages, though.

No Way. The fact that he will one day be able to tell his grandchildren that he played 5 year for Manchester United is already sickening and a devaluation of the club

Wouldn't mind as it'll cost more to replace him and he's not always terrible. He's a much better squad option for example than DvB
Neither should be in our squad next season.

I created the Why did we sign Fred thread in his first season and I’m still wondering how we thought £52m for a decent price for him. He’s good at pressing against the big teams but any games requiring possession football he’s shocking.

The only thing that he should be offered is a one way ticket that gets him the feck out of England!

A 1 yr deal I would be okay with just for depth until they bring in a better player, but a 3yr deal is so typical for this club. He will be deadwood once ETH gets the proper replacements he needs and they'll be stuck with him, paying him a fortune.

No, unless it's for 33% of his current salary because it's a 1/3 chance he plays up to standard game to game.

For depth maybe. But not if it stops is going for someone else.

Feck depth. We have a couple of talented young midfielders.

Yes, but he should make the transition to squad player.

Yes, we need another 5 years of inconsistencies please....

Caf: We need to shift players, they are definitely the problem not the manager

Also the caf: We should offer contracts

Never change
