I won't find the stats for other clubs as I'll probably make mistakes, but my opinion is over the course of the time, United will have fielded the most appearances from academy players of the top 6

Wages
I don't have any figures for this, but I'm going to take an educated guess at over the course of the 6 seasons, the wages paid by clubs will be in this order:
Man Utd
Man City
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal

Tottenham

Tansfer stats sourced from: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk
All other stats: Wikipedia

Why did I do this: It felt like a good idea last night while laid in bed. Was it a waste of time? Probably

That's a lot of stats. My first impression from looking is that Mourinho should have been backed properly after his second place finish. But then you look at our overall spend at over £800 million plus the fact that a Europa League win papered over a poor first season in the league for him. Then you see where he wants to spend the money (boateng,Perisic) and the result is inevitable. These stats clearly show how poorly and inconsistently we are being run as a club and they don't even tell the full story.

The academy players numbers are skewed a little from us hiring two managers with opposing philosophies on players young players.

Also, on paper Tottenham have performed genuine miracles to progress like they have.

And the quality on the managers has increased significantly.

What this tells me is that when we had a big summer one year, we needed another big summer the year after too, instead we've done a big summer followed by a measly one and failed to capitalise on any initiative we gained.

What this shows is that what is most important is to have a well functioning organization and structure in place. By organisation and structure i relate this to everything in the football department apart from the players. Be it coaches, strategy, training facilities, data analytics etc.

And that at United this has not been the case.
