It's the other way around. Sir Alex left his phone on speaker and had an AI mimicking his voice hold the conversation instead. Owen was, naturally, oblivious.

I couldn't find any news about him being there and I'm certain there would have been stories about him making an appearance if he did.

My guess is he’s probably chilling out at home, completely fine but since he’s in his mid 80s and had a brain haemorrhage eight years ago, they’re just keeping a close eye on him for a few weeks before he gets the all clear to go out and have fun again.
I see that Guardiola at his press conference mentioned he had a message from Sir Alex in the last day or two so hopefully that's a good sign on his recent health issue.
