Very sad news, it’s a horrible condition, losing someone who’s still alive is just heart breaking.

That's terrible. I was thinking he was quiet since the news about Nobby.

Another one of England's World Cup heroes and Manchester United legend.

This year can go and feck itself.

Well wishes go to the Charlton family at this difficult time.

Unsurprising considering the heavy footballs they used to played with. It's a horrible disease. It starts off mild, then one day it takes over all of a sudden. The drop off in cognitive ability is like a stock market crash. Then it can drag on for years.

My aunt has it. As other have stated, it's devastating. Wish him all the best.

I think he may have been living with this for a while. I know of some people who have met him in recent years, who did remark on his general demeanour. It's a horrible illness.

Awful disease. My grandmother had it before she passed away. Just stayed in bed all day looking at the ceiling.

Occasionally then she would have a bad day and be wandering around the place.

Eventually she did not even know who any of us were.

Sad news... My Grandad has it and it’s heartbreaking seeing him slowly go worse over the past few months :(

Wish him all the best.
