Modric and De Gea at 97 and 96 invalidates the list instantly.

Edit: Just saw the list is generated by their scoring index. So it's pretty pointless.

Veratti at 94th. Those 3 are all more than 40 places behind Mkhitaryan, Kolarov and Sigurdsson.

I get that there is a specific criteria and method for this ranking. I could create a list of the 100 best footballers based on wiping Merlin stickers with peanut butter and allowing a hamster to pick players at random.

It doesn't mean the list would warrant publishing on a national sports news site.

Surely you would not claim that your computer generated advanced metrics tools came up with that list. You´d blame it on the intern, who thought Sky was a weather channel.

97. Luka Modric - Real Madrid

One of the more surprising rankings on the list, Modric came fifth in this year's Ballon d'Or vote after enjoying Champions League and La Liga glory with Real Madrid. His formidable understanding with Casemiro and Toni Kroos in midfield has allowed the forward line to flourish at Real.
What is wrong with Sky? "Oh this boy was 5th best at Ballon d'Or, let's put him on 97th place on our list"

It's probably Paul Merson who's done this list. He left Salah out of his team of the season so far!

Still daft though.

40-21 - nearly all attackers.

Includes Rashford at 33 and former United great Memphis Depay at 32.
