Sometime in the morning. Will be an interesting watch. Should be confronted with comments he made last season ("some of these players won't be here next season"). What will he make of the lack of attacking reinforcements? Will he keep protecting the clowns in charge and take Fergie's "no value in the market" route?

Yeah let's hope he does what Mourinho did and start hitching about his own team before a single game has been played to protect his own reputation, that worked out well.

It’s a fine line between criticizing the board and letting the world know you have no faith in your squad to hit lofty achievements. We know because we saw how what is roughly the same squad gave up on Mourinho early on last year.

We will all do well to understand that whatever Ole says will be said with the goal of keeping his squad positively focused and as motivated as possible.

Ole publicly condemning ownership and the board on the eve of the season’s kick off is completely off of the table. At most he will praise the stability that Aaron and Harry will bring to our back line, along with the promising talent James brings to the table.

His one and only focus is on the Chelsea game on Sunday, as it should be. Whether you like the squad in it’s current state or not, these are the players we have for now and all Ole cares about is getting them off to the best start possible.

A sensible post.

If a few more people could do this that would be great thanks

Dead man walking.

Shambolic window, squad is poor and top 4 will be a miracle. He’ll bear the brung of it and he won’t last the season.

Not that it’s his fault. The players let him down at the back end of last year and when the going gets tough, some of them will again.

Think he'll just say that we tried to bring players in but the players we wanted weren't available and that he's happy with the three we made. Probably talk up the likes of Greenwood, Tuanzebe, Gomes and Chong too.

If the youngsters mentioned don’t get serious game time then we really are looking at a Liverpool scenario.

If we can’t get the players we ‘want’ then seriously blooding these youngsters has to be the priority. I’m not saying all 4 every game but they need to be in a position where they are truly allowed to compete for positions.

Spot on. He’s likely to say he got his first three main targets, possibly would have liked one more but the market was against us. More than happy with the squad. Got some really exciting Academy players coming through who will get their chance based on pre-season.

Then on Sunday he will announce the team ......

Would be surprised if we didn't see our youngsters get a lot of game time this season. We haven't got that much depth.

Football managers have to behave like politicians with what they say and he's hardly like to comment on how inept his board are or how the richest club in the world (or certainly top 3) can only make a net spend of 80 million for the past two successive seasons. It's either prevaricate/deflect the questions or just be ultra positive.

It'll be a load of bollocks about Rashy stepping up, intensity of training, belief in this team, players showing hunger etc. and it really won't be his fault. If he goes down the Jose route of expressing his frustration he'll be as good as gone in a few months.

Good post and agree with this, although think Ole could put pressure on Woodward and owners without disrupting squad morale.

For example: if he says he's happy with wide options and cm options, but feels we're little lightweight in that departmant since we're playing EL this year it would send message to players that he counts on them, but fears of them burning out, meaning he's not undermining their quality but we simply lack players in numbers. Which then he can comment with "it's hard market, bla bla" but those reading beetween the lines would get the message.

Speaking about being happy with the squad when he's clearly not just makes easier for upper managment to act stupid: our manager is happy with the squad, why should we buy more players if he likes those available.

Im actually looking forward to the season ahead - we’ve won all our preseason games, we’ve got what looks like one of the best right back talents I’ve ever seen, we have a Centre back who can get his head on everything in either box and can actually pass and run with the ball and we are going to see just how promising Greenwood, Gomes, Chong and Garner really are.

ole won’t ‘spin’ it any way - he’ll do what any good manager would do and back his players.

Great post. Ole's created a positive atmosphere around the club this summer and he's not going to throw all that away because we missed out on a few players. He learned from SAF to keep club business behind closed doors and get everything you can out of the players you have. He's going to put a lot of faith in this lot.

Well it’s not his fault we can’t shift players. I’m sure Solskjaer isn’t stupid enough to think this squad is good enough but he’s been hired as a yes man who won’t rock the boat.

For his own good and reputation he has to play this smartly. I don't want him to go out on a civil war, but if he is happy with this transfer window and then our season fall apart fast, he will deserve the sack that will come.

He should focus on the players he has now, especially in the public.

Privately he should make Ed know he wasn’t happy with this window. (I don’t think it was too bad anyway)

"I'm happy with the squad, we have some top top quality players, we're looking forward to a fresh start".
"It was always gonna be a tough transfer window. Fortunately we've got some great experienced players in Youngy who captains the club by example and is a role model to some of the younger players like Rashy, Chongy, Jesse and Mason. If you're good enough you're old enough."

On a serious note I think we will end up surprising a few people this season. :wenger:

No instead he should toe the party line , protect Ed and set himself up for the sack before Xmas when we are miles off the pace

Well, good to know the United forum will be absolute trash this year.
People don’t want to be positive or think about the big picture. All they want is for our manager to go to war with the clubs higher ups and fight the good fight for them. What happened to dealing with matters internally and making the best of what we have.

jose really left his mark on some of you. There are more ways other than telling the world your squad is rubbish to improve the current situation we find ourselves in... and in my opinion Ole is doing that

He’s in a horrible position.

Any manager in his position should be speaking out. He can’t, because to be honest, he’s lucky to have the job. He got the new manager bounce then looked bereft of ideas when he got the job and the wheels came off.

I think he’s a good guy and could very well be a very good manager, but for me, there’s too many players ready to chuck the towel in. That needed to be addressed and it hasn’t.

That’s a top 6 squad at best because other teams have improved. And you can guarantee that like last year, when things get tough the same players will look to hide. Then it becomes cheaper to sack the manager for a quick fix.

I hate to say this but there’s a handful of players in that squad who would have survived under Fergie.

Club is a shambles. The Glazers need to wise up because ground lost is, at some stage, money lost. The star fades quickly.

He'll 100% put a brave face on and say that they didn't pursue anyone because Greenwood, Gomes and Chong will step up.
