He just needs someone from united to shit on now that Pogba is gone. Anyone with half a brain doesn't really listen to anything that bitter fool has to say
But surely he could pick on someone else? If he can't have a go at Brits and is too obsessed with Ronaldo to say anything bordering on criticism, then Dalot, Bruno, and Antony would make more sense.

Martinez has been our POTY so far. Bizarre to criticise him really.

United still hurt Souness inside his belly!!
He just wants to be the most controversial of all the stupid pundits and he's the 'king of stupidity'.

Had Klopp signed Martinez Souness would be defending him. This is pure Liverpool bias and its so funny to watch. Cos you just know where its coming from.

It’s pretty clear that talksport just want the clicks. Almost every single presenter or guest has a controversial take on everything.

Not every pundit is paid for their insight and analysis. Some are paid to say silly nonsensical things to get people talking about them which generates interest & helps ratings.

Case in point being when we battered Tottenham and no one spoke about it. Conte and Tottenham got away with zero criticism for the way they played, instead they all wanted to talk about Ronaldo.

All true but the funniest thing about this is Souness actually looks like he believes the stuff he comes out with.

There's no way he's watching our games.
I wouldn't be surprised if he did and his Liverpool selective memory just wiped anything positive Martinez does.

They're the Jeremy Kyle of sports shows
A solid comparison!

Wtf is he watching? Honestly, someone needs to call him out on his BS. Which defender in the league is better on the ball than Martínez?

Don't hold it against him lads. He's watching Liverpool get beat by drop zone teams week on week.

Alright Souness, put your medals on the table and lets compare yours and Casemiro's
I don't think he is that wrong about Casimero. Casimero have been very good and made our midfield more stabile. But he hasn't been worldbeater. He wasn't that in Real Madrid either and actually, that is not his role. He is there to give team balance and he has great football IQ. 7-7,5 of 10 every week? I'll have no problem to take that from a central (holding) midfielder. I think we need to ask us where line for good, very good and great goes.

When it comes to Martinez, I think he is wrong there. Martinez, with exception of game against Brentford, have been one of the top five signings in league so far. Brilliant.

Btw. Souness have great amount of medals. I don't think that should be talked about in this case.

What constitutes a “world beater” for his position?

Casemiro has been one of the greatest ever in his position.

That is a question. Where do we draw a line? For me, he have been good but there is still things that can be better. He is still learning english football and tempo that comes with it. What he have been and what he is now are two different things. Let him play more games before we evaluate him. In a fair way.

Just for fun, my average rating this season for Casimero is 6,5 what I can see. (6 is my starting "point" for every player.) Rest of RedCafe people have it on 6,2. Souness have him 7-7,5 every game according to him. He is also more positive to him than our own fans.

All right now, he's a 5 times league winner in England and he won 3 European cups. Say what you must, but the guy was genuinely a world class midfielder. Same bracket as Roy Keane.

I sort of see where he's coming from on Casemiro. He's probably talking about as an overall midfielder, you wouldn't say he is fantastic in every department of the game, and that's probably what he's looking at as a former midfielder himself. His passing is good not great, he's not the most athletic in the world. But possibly what he's missing is that the game has moved on and it's now about specialists and Casemiro IS a great specialist.

The Martinez point just strikes me as a guy willing to die on that particular hill. He's not the quickest, no, but to say he's not a good passer for a CB is ludicrous. He's waiting for the guy to make a mistake to tell us how he was right while ignoring all the evidence that says he's wrong.

He’s an old bitter Cnut. Martinez is the only United player I would include in team of the year so far ( very premature obviously) . He’d start for any premier league team on current form surely ?

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"

Why? Souness most definitely wasn't good at all aspects of the game.. he was a midfielder in an age where his role was pretty basic. And he was good at it.

He was surrounded by great players which helped too.

Souness wouldn't know what makes a top midfielder nowadays and he definitely wouldn't know what made a top defender.

He's Grandpa Simpson. Old man shouts at clouds.
