Southampton Football Club (nicknamed The Saints) are a professional football club based in Southampton, Hampshire, England; and were founded in 1885 by members of St Mary's Church of England Young Men's Association. Southampton play their home games at St. Mary's Stadium, and were one of the founding members of the Premier League in 1992. The club has a long-standing sporting rivalry with Portsmouth in a match termed the South Coast Derby or the Hampshire Derby. In recent years, Southampton has received praise for employing an attractive brand of football under Mauricio Pochettino and more recently, Ronald Koeman, and having the best youth system on English soil - which has produced the likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Calum Chambers, Adam Lallana; apart from current Manchester United leftback, Luke Shaw.

We should test a CB for EL final. Don't have an idea who should we play.

Too much rest can result in losing match rhythm. Most of the XI should be players who'll start vs Ajax.

Players and manager won't be up for it. (Which is pathetic). Southampton will want revenge for the League Cup final. So I don't see anything but another loss. Our 3rd on the spin in PL.

Think we'll win this game 1 - 0 or something like that.

    Keep the reserves going.

    De Gea
    Bailly - Smalling - Jones - Blind
    Carrick - Fellaini
    Lingard - Mata - Martial
    Rooney

Blind needs a rest while Rashford probably needs a start.
We might see Jose try out his final side, its not often you get a free trial run

Mkhitaryan should be starting as he will definitely start in EL final.

Think it'll be the cup final team but with Bailly instead of Blind.

Hope for no injuries, think we need to play the defensive pair that we'll be playing for the final. What a nothing game.

Hope Jones gets picked ahead of Smalling, he's overall a better player and the center-back I would pick for the final. But he needs to pick up form quickly.

    Dress rehearsal. I'd go:

    --------------Romero--------------
    Valencia-Smalling-Blind-Darmian
    ----------Fellaini-Herrera---------
    Mkhitaryan---Mata--------Martial
    -------------Rashford-------------

Seems odd to pile up so many exhibition matches before a European final. Must be some rationale for it though.

Play the youths. If we're going to lose, let's lose with giving them minutes.

I think we'll play a few, but give some much needed match practice to Jones, Smalling, Mata etc.

    DDG
    Tuanzebe-Bailly-Jones-Darmian
    Pogba/Herrera-Fellaini
    Mata-Mkhitaryan-Rooney
    Martial

Against Palace it'll probably be something like (hoping that Jones starts with Blind in the final):

    Pereira
    Olosunde-Bailly-Smalling-Tuanzebe
    Carrick-McTominay
    Mitchell-Rooney-Willock
    Gribbin/Bohui
Perhaps wishful thinking re: Gribbin/Bohui, but still...

Not gonna bother watching this one. I'll get home from work about 5mins before kickoff and I'm up at 5am the following day, so could do with an early night. Plus, it's gonna be a paint-drying non event.
