Savinho is a weird one. I think he has huge potential and it didn't really work out at City. Having watched him a lot for Girona, there is a real top player in there. One thing playing in La Liga though, it's another in the Premier League

Savinho and Gakpo on top of what they've already done would be really big for them. Fair play they're going very aggressive. Wonder if it clicks but looks good on paper. Plus the easy mode of not having European football is an ideal setup for a big year for them

Eh? Rogers hit 14 across league and Europe last season. Also 14 in 24/25 including CL hat trick and goal away to PSG.
Yeah Diomande is based more on potential currently so not sure he'll be a success at Real Madrid.
They can afford these punts. It's practically meaningless to them.
Make a punt in the PL and it might result in not getting Europe, but PSG make a punt in Ligue 1 and they'll make CL anyway, and with it CL money to try another punt if the first doesn't pan out.
Getting only £34.2 million for the best central defender in the semi finals of the worldcup match vs England is even worse than Spurs overspending this summer. The absolute minimum they should have accepted is a few million over the £51.3 million they paid for Van Hecke as he was contracted till summer 2029
Romero's sale should have gone a decent way to reducing the net spend but as its closer to half what it should have been, I'm expecting at least 1 more of their best players to be off. Kudus, Richarlison or Simons.

I agree it was a very low fee. But of the three you mentioned two are still out injured.
Kudus was rested in Spurs most recent friendly. He's medically cleared now and will just need match fitness
Richarlison is fit, but only has a year on his deal so I'm not actually sure his sale will make enough money
Simons looks like 2027 so okay, I guess he wont be having a transfer before then
So Kudus would seem like the one where they could get a decent amount back to reduce net spend

It is below his market value but they had to get Romero out of the club. Him just lingering there and probably not even being first choice any longer wouldn't have done anyone any favours.
Also not a good example for young players if the actual captain is slagging off the board regularly on social media.

Ornstein jumped the gun a few weeks back saying Sunderland were signing him for 50m + and then he was starting Spurs friendly the next day.
Spurs have loads of CMs on their books now....Tonali, Fernandes, Sarr, Bergvall, Bentancur, Gallagher and Archie Gray.
Even if they were playing CL that is probably one too many given they also have Maddison back as AM option so Sarr and Bergvall will both leave in next two weeks I suspect. Not sure whether De Zerbi rates Gray much either so perhaps he might go out on loan for a year.

How many games did he actually play last year? He was constantly getting sent off/injured/sent off. Then out for the run in.
Van Hecke/Van De Ven/Senesi will be fine I suspect for top 7.

Like our own friendlies best not to go over the top (although a lot of posters did yesterday) but Spurs looked open defensively. Their midfield was "overrun" several times with Tonali playing. But they looked much better than last season going forward. They played nice forward passes and were obviously able to get 3 goals with Tel playing well and Mikey Moore scoring 2, looking like he might be ready to burst onto the first team scene. Hoffenheim had lots of chances to score themselves but had poor finishing. A better team with a better performance would have made the score a lot closer.
Juve pulling off another loan with an option, Vicario this time. Not great in terms of recouping money for Spurs.

That'll cost a bomb, and don't think it'll improve them as much as you'd hope for that money. Marmoush is a good player though.

Think Marmoush would be a good signing for them. Less sure about Savinho at the rumoured price.
I don't want City to recoup a lot of money, but at the same time I really want Spurs to drop a bomb on these two, just to really hammer home their massive overspend this summer.
Neither were first choice last season by any stretch but Savinho had 1 goal and 1 assist in the PL (against Crystal Palace and Everton respectively) last season, and Marmoush had 3 and 3 (against Wolves, Newcastle. and Westham for goals, and West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace for assists).
You would expect both to get a fair few more with more game time, but paying a premium for players who just haven't done it yet in the PL just doesn't track for me. Savinho is 22, but Marmoush is 27 and should be in his prime. I can easily see this being 140-160m for a double deal. Which is absurd. Spurs should be looking to get both for about 100m fixed, with another 30-50 in addons based on performance. And even at those prices I am not sure there aren't better options elsewhere. They could get Rashford for 30-35m, probably way less than half of what Marmoush will cost, and he's only a year older. Reckon wages would be similar.

Bergvall I think asked to leave, not that he would start. Udogie I read something about being out, but suspect that was just reddit talk. Their #10 seems to be the most up in the air, with Kulusevski, Maddison & Simons all capable of playing there if they ever get rid of injuries.

Maddison is their version of Mount though, and will be injured before long. Not disagreeing with your post, just saying. I remember how upset some posters were about us not signing him.
Ordinary? They’ll have a seriously strong team if they pull this off, with good squad depth too.
Don't care about the fees, just glad to hopefully get some attacking players through the door. Right now we are starting the season with a front four of Gallagher, Tel, Richarlison and Moore.
