3,5 weeks since the thread was made and we have gotten rid of one player, worryingly few rumours about other outgoings.

I know window is open for a while still but feels like there has to be some departures before we can add to the fold, especially CB's.

A bit annoying seeing the likes of Liverpool already get rid of Lovren and Lallana for an example for decent fees and have to worry if we can even get our players out, even for just a small fee. It's so weird, like with Smalling, had a great season and yet we couldn't even sell him to Roma. (Edit: just realized Lallana went for free)
We recalled him. Roma wanted him to stay

Yes because we put a deadline on them buying him before Europa League and because Roma would not meet our valuation (if news that I have been reading are right).

Seriously doubt Ole wants to use him and doubt he wants to stay as backup, his tweet was not a happy one when he left them

good point yeah, still like to see more players who have been out on loan like Sanchez leave (Smalling should have been sold already) and Rojo. But yeah, can't have everything and there is plenty of time. Just hope we can get a few of them "deadwoods" out this window

We ended up paying additional 9M to Sanchez instead of getting 15M as some people predicted here.

Its a real shame we don’t have any negotiation skills, After the success he had at Inter we should have waited for an offer from PSG or run some stories on our own and pushed inter to pay few millions least.

Same happening with other players too, Ed’s team is totally inept when it comes to shipping out players, high salaries is one of the excuse.

We were never going go get 15m for him. Getting rid of him on a free with a 9m payoff has saved us 17 mil in wages. Hes a crock, over the hill and been a total disaster. Getting him out of the club in any way shape or form before the expiry of his contract in 2 years is a magnificent piece of business.

The 15m was banded about by the same people who think we are about to sell JLingz for 30m, pereira for 25m and jones for 20m, to justify some sort of fantasy football world where we sign about 400m of players for a peanuts net spend.

If we let rojo go for free and jones for nominal money it Would save us 15 mil wages.

I dont get why we Didnt accept the 13m for smalling it also saves us his 13m wages.

Absolutely no one is paying top dollar for players who are surplus to requirements and mediocre at best. Especially in this pandemic.

Too right!
Players like Rojo and Jones are probably not good enough to play in the Premier League now so unless there is a Championship club for Jones or a European or South American club that would take Rojo we are stuck with them.
These two alone are on a hundred grand a week......Ridiculous.
