Sverre Nypan | Norwegian media: United out of the race

Looking more and more likely he is Arsenal bound. If we get him + Zubimendi and we manage to get another experienced midfelder on the cheap we'd have sorted out next season's midfield. There's also a good chance we see Havertz in midfield volume 2 if we finally buy a striker.

I’d have thought ST should be high on your priority list. You’ve bought midfielders and defenders despite being solid defensively yet lacking a proper ST. Your like a clinical ST and maybe another winger away from winning the league.

Yeah I fear them signing Sesko and him being a monster for them.

They should have signed him earlier. Then maybe Liverpool wouldn’t be winning the league.
It's not like we didn't try, we had 60/70M ready to get him, he said no and wanted to stay one more year in the Bundesliga. Not much you can do after that except bidding some stupid amount.

I was genuinely feeling gutted when we were claimed to be out of the race and the thought of him going to City or Arsenal made it worse.

Wishful thinking to believe he is holding out for us in the summer?

Rumours going round speak to the fact he has asked for guaranteed playing time, I always appreciate that about a player as you know he trusts his ability and isn't just looking for a quick financial reward.

After this summer we will be able to loan our players to Lille and Lausanne I believe, which we can then use give these young players some game time in an intermediary league.

This would be great for this sort of situation. I believe Man City were looking to buy him and loan straight to Girona for example.

Definitely this a completely untapped resource because as good as u23 and u18s are, it's nothing like men's football and the loan moves don't always go well but I do think we have been smarter with the loans for someone like Antony as if he doesn't play a certain amount they have to pay us more so we have incentivized them further to play him.

Exactly.

For the right player the Championship can be really good experience (eg. Amad) - but can also be hit or miss depending on whether the player is ready and what the receiving club's situation is like - eg. if they are struggling they will likely deprioritise playing another club's youngster or the manager can get sacked and the player loses favour.

Having our own affiliated clubs take on players allows us to monitor them more closely and ensure they are developing in the right way, perhaps even under the same or similar system to Amorim.

is he better than Dibbling?
Totally different player I would have said. I think he'll be more of an attacking 8 rather than a winger/forward. Good carrier but not as tricky/explosive as Dibling but probably a better range of passing.

not seen the lad play but i've seen Dibbling a few times....think Dibbling as an attacking 10 with garnacho or amad would be brilliant

so it sounds like Nypan would play more in the ugarte and mainoo current role

Nice, not Lille.

I love the look of both of them in what limited amount I've seen of them. I think in our system, they would both be 10s but very different styles. Not sure Nypan would have the defensive discipline to play in the midfield two yet. He's definitely more attacking than b2b or DM at this stage of his career.

is he better than Dibbling?

Very hard to say given the differences in league strength.

I wouldnt be surprised if it turns out he is, but Dibling too would have more goals and assists if he gets a move to a better team so both could prove themselves in the next 18 months to 2 years at a high level. I think he's more technical than Dibling while Dibling is faster and more dribbling based, so I think while they would both play as a #10 in our system on one hand you'd have Nypan playing more like Bruno and on the other hand you'd have Dibling playing more like Garnacho pulling outside and using pace and power to get by an opponent wider to get down the sides. Also Dibling has played as a CM for Southampton u21s. Some of the games I've seen him in at youth levels he was playing there

you guys seems to have a bit more insight on Nypan from watching him but i really like the look of Dibbling, almost like a young Gareth Bale.

The exciting thing though is the club is FINALLY back to identifying and looking to bring in young, hungry talented players

is he not an LAM?

I saw his heat map and it seemed like he was playing as a left sided attacking midfielder. Though I haven't watched any matches.

Sounds like his camp or club are asking for something which PL clubs have not been able to meet.

Maybe waiting for his boyhood club to get themselves in a better position to sign him?
Tier 845 ITK on r/Gunners "Nypan wants a pre-season with his new club, rather than coming during the middle of the season, and that in the summer, it will be us that he comes to. He's been leaning towards Arsenal all the time"
He's also smart to keep his options open, every club will come back to offer slightly better terms, he has all the time in the world.

If that's the case, why wouldn't Arsenal just agree to sign him but loan him back to Rosenborg until the summer?

I don't know, i'm sure we tried, he's smart to keep his options open just in case. He looks to be very confident in himself and not in a rush to commit.
Say City escapes a big punishment, comes back and offer him the Haaland package, employ his dad, mom, brothers and 4 cousins, he might just go there and chill in Girona until time is right to play in the PL.

Not sure I understand you, that would be the left sided 10 in our team.Wouldn't be playing him as WB or in the midfield two from what I've seen. But I haven't seen enough of him to know all his strengths and weaknesses.
