New manager and new coaching set up confirmed by the club.

Very positive and finally we can start the summer properly with a full compliment of staff (all highly qualified and the managers number one choices)

Thoughts?

Hopefully a new beginning. They have a huge job ahead, along with other key staff, so let's hope we are finally turning the corner. Let's give them time to implement the massive changes required.

The tweet doesn't even acknowledge McClaren ever being at the club previously (including during our most successful ever season no less!)

Does the person who wrote that tweet not know that McClaren was the assistant coach in the past?

Shouldn't it read: "A warm welcome for Mitchell van der Gaag, and a warm return for Steve McClaren"

Great news. We've needed at least one very experienced coach since Jose went.
Lets see how they get these individuals playing as a proper team.

They need to fix the back-end of the United structure -- from who/how they recruit players, how do they justify contract extensions to decision-making process. I think there has been too much decisions by committees.
They need to rationalise and streamline the decision-making processes within United. Too many convoluted layers.

I actually want to see sales first. Can’t wait to see loads of this lot leave:devil: it’s as exciting as the incomings. It’s going to be satisfying as feck.

Looks like Van Der Gaag can speak Portuguese. He spent 5 years playing there and 5 years as a manager.

He played for Motherwell so he should speak Scottish too

Sorry, but I have to ask. I've heard several commentators pronounce his name as Van der GAYg.

Surely it has to has to pronounced more like GOG?
