If you're looking at the trajectory of our squad building, we addressed attack heavily last summer and midfield this summer. It feels like next summer will be defence-focused, Martinez and Maguire contracts ending, Shaw contract ending, presumably we ship off one of our right backs and bring in an upgrade. So we're unlikely to spend £100m on a player there. So I wouldn't expect the £100m barrier to be broken in 2027 either.
Maybe 2028 if we've had consistent CL revenue and we're looking for star players at that point to get us over the line.
However a lot can change in a year, we might find we're not happy with our midfield or attack next summer and feel the need to splash again in either of those areas.
