Television The Boys

What do we think about the virus, think it might be able to spread from supe to supe if Soldier Boy is still alive.
I've a feeling it only kills Supes made from Compound V, whereas Soldier Boy was created using the original formula (Stormfront was the same).

I say only, that's all but one surviving Supe.

what Supes would survive it outside of him then? Only homelander?

I think Homelander was made with Compound V so I'm not sure he would survive. Possibly only Soldier Boy could survive it because of how he got his powers, unless it's not quite potent enough to take out Homie? I've no idea, basically.

I thought Homelander was the son of Soldier Boy from IVF but can't remember. Think the Gen V is a compound V baby though, or she might be safe as she was born from Homelander genes or something.

Well first 2 episodes were pretty good I thought. They are using the virus plot well I think so it's giving some weight to Gen V an important plot point born out. I chuckled at the Meta commentary they had on the way to spring Huey/MM/Frenchie about how hard it is to write final seasons. And its impossible to make everyone happy and close all storylines. They know what they are in for that was cute of them to add in there.

Final season death count is moving along pretty nicely. We will see if they can get more value out of Soldier Boy or if he should have just stayed dead in episode 2. If he is a walking contagion now and maybe weaker that might be interesting. What will he do go hunt the others? Ryan is going to show up at some point, I guess. Maybe the final battle with Butcher and his dad and have to make a choice on who to save?

I have been wanting Sage to have some kind of huge brilliant master plan the whole time. I hope she doesnt end up disappointing in the end.

I’ll watch it to the end but I find it all a bit boring now? Real America is actually more mental and I’ve grown quite bored of exploding heads/humans/dicks at this point.

Homelander was the best thing about it but feels like it’s just recycling the same story every season with him. Invincible is a much better show.

Frenchie's actor is a right piece of shit, isn't he?
The stories coming to light currently are revolting.

I watched the latest episode, but really didn't enjoy it because of seeing him in it.
I don't know how to feel about him. I saw something he wrote about his time in the IDF and it made me feel sick, but at the same time it reads like it made him feel sick too. But at the same time he did it.

Then there was something I read where he said that there's terrorists and killers in Gaza, but there's also terrorists and killers in the Israeli government. I kept thinking "not this both sides shit again". But relatively speaking, having a popular Israeli actor openly criticise his own government isn't a bad thing.

But then I go back to "yeah but he bundled an eighteen year old girl into a van with his squadie mates and dumped her with some random soldier who most likely abused or raped her". Just because he feels sad about it now doesn't really help that girl out, does it?

Nah there's a lot more to it this season I feel. Good episode 3, really strong final season so far.

You're taking this "a little" too far.

Anyhow, a lot of brainless 18-year olds drafted into the army straight from highschool do, under orders, stuff they wouldn't at an older age. I wouldn't call them pieces of shit.

I'm just all on that last paragraph. No excuses.

Ok so he kidnapped an 18 year old girl and brought her to a compound where, in his own words, eight other girls of the same age were also imprisoned.

Anyhow, wouldn't want to "take this too far".

When you put it like this it's as if he's just decided one day to go and abduct someone rather being part of a military unit who were ordered to arrest someone.

Yes, he did it. So did many others, including people who later on - like him - regretted being part of it, told their stories... and were villified by the right in Israel, calling them liars and smearing them.

I don't think they should also by villified by people who object to such actions.

Ok, oh balanced one. Tell me exactly what I should post just incase I offend the poor victim and make him more upset.

I wasn't even vilifying him ffs but you seem incapable of seeing anything remotely negative against these soldiers. I wish you extended that sympathy to some of the civilians caught up in their actions.

Big time. They've taken a good character with a lot of depth and turned her into a shit joke factory.
That's the show in a nutshell really, shit joke factory. Can't believe i enjoyed this show early on. The longer it's gone on, feels like I have gone off it more and more.

Yeah I feel the same.

His horrible crimes aside, I don't see why they couldn't just cast a French/Algerian actor to play....a French-Algerian character. Tahar Rahim for example would have been an excellent casting choice.

Just feels gross and ironic in the worst possible way having an Israeli with a history of war crimes with the IDF playing a French-Algerian fighting fascism.

I agree with everyone saying Kimiko's character has been diminished with how they decided to introduce her speaking. They have taken the nuance and emotion out of reading her non verbal acting and replaced it with Tik Tok, and porn jokes.
That said the last episode was mixed for me. I think the Ryan Homelander confrontation needed more acting. It was too fast, too physical. I would rather see Homelander actually for once have to face the rape of his mother and explain it. It would have been equally horrid and awful but I think getting to see the emotional impact. Same outcome if they wanted but it could have given Ryan more depth.

The search for V1 storyline is interesting. I want to see how that squares with what they told us about Marie in Gen V s2. They didn't include her in the list of people basically "immune" the v1 candidates. And honestly a lot of the v1 people are still killable. We saw Stormfront taken out by Ryan who we know was weaker than Homelander without v1. If they are going to land this whole thing in the final season they have far to go still.

Its looking like there will be a final struggle with the I would guess final v1 supply when they inevitably find it. Will Homelander get it, will The Boys? Some of the Boys will want to give it to Starlight and Kimiko potentially if it lands in their lap. Will be problems there. Sage is still in play what is her endgame here. I think if there is one they have to start showing their work really soon not just wait till the last 2 episodes.

Exactly!!

It's like a sick joke.

I would. 100%. Some lines you don’t get to cross over with the “oh he was just a kid”

Most do, though.

It's easy to criticise from far away. A little different when you're actually born here, get brainwashed by militarism and national security and pride from a very young age and get drafted at 18 straight from highschool when you still don't know anything about this world and also be put in dangerous situations.

I think it will be something to do with
Noir. Seems pretty obvious that he's not who he seems to be with all the references from Deep in the last few episodes about how quiet he is and how he's going "method".

I believe that is good speculation. The show deviated from that characters comic form.
But, if they circle back now to more of what he was and his purpose from the comics as a master plan that could work and tie loose ends.

It's a bit late in the day to be whinging about dialogue in the final season but still, Hughie saying an Abercrombie fecked a McDonalds that fecked a 7/11 or whatever it was. Who is writing this shit?

Kimiko.

Writing has dropped off since the 3rd season, dialogue just lacks the snap that the show at its best had, just feels tired.

Hughie married Neuman.

Have to agree with some of the comments in here about Kimiko. She used to be a really good character, with depth. Yet now that she can talk, its like the writers just tossed that all out the window, with half her lines just sounding plain dumb or immature.
