The clear out - progression thread

Was he ever a world beater? That’s a genuine question. He never did it for England, did he do it for Dortmund in big European games?

The question, a genuine question, of the day is whether Jadon Sancho ever really was a world beater? I think he was. During those two seasons for Dortmund -- there might have been a third but I only remember two -- the boy was outrageous. I don't have the stats to back that up but the eye test suggested he was man among boys in the Bundesliga. But this is where the objection arises -- it was only the Bundesliga. Look at Kane now, destroying his opponents whereas it's doubtful he would be as dominant in England now as he is in Germany. That's a fair objection and all we have is the evidence right in front of us, which is that while Sancho killed it in Germany (first tour of duty, not the second), he was a useless mess in England. That's all we know.

Virtually no chance - it's a total obligation if Napoli qualify for the CL (and they want to keep him anyway - his goal record's decent, he seems to be popular enough and they're solid financially)
The President said that they will sign him, no matter what.

But they'll probably renegotiate the fee if they don't make CL.

Onana will be to be hard to shift, seen reports that Inter want Vicario and the reports that they want Onana has died down. Only chance is Turkey but they have seen first hand how shit he is, or Saudi, but again lack of rumours...

Saudi won’t buy Onana. They have reigned in spending, and have a limit on foreign players. Why would you use that space on a goalkeeper? They also know how shit he is.

The days of Saudi sweeping up any player who is available are long gone.

Think Hojlund is nailed on to Napoli. Rashford, not so sure with the noises Barca are making. Onana worries me, really not sure what happens there.

I know JJ is a tad young but the age of all these range from 15 to 22. There is a load of talent and we need a few of these to step up. Surley there are 8-10 who can do this?
Vitek, Mainoo, Yoro, Heaven, Amass, Leon, Obi, Lacey, Amir I, Ajayi, Kukonki, Thwaites, Ngwashi, Overy, Helafu, Kone, New Columbian captain Christian, Rooney, Mantato, Nkoto twins, Harley Emsden-James, Enzo Kana-Biyik, Jacob Watson, English keeper Charlie Hardy, Darlington the Spanish keeper I hear good things from.
And (Mainoo and Yoro aside) likely 2 of that group will make it at United if they are lucky. There is a huge gap in difference between the u21 level or u18 level and the PL.
