City selling Savinho for 80m. Come on man, that just cant be real. We cant even areange a loan with option to buy and other teams sell no names with little experience for crazy money

Speculation is that it's to cover for Marmoush being at a lower fee so City don't have to pay money to Frankfurt.

We wouldn’t be able to sell him at all, he’s been abysmal. I suspect Marmoush will go for £10-£15m in the same direction, which is Savinhos true value.

Rashford would genuinely be a much better option for them, I’d take £10-£20m of spurs’ cash for him.

Is crazy how we seem unable to sell anyone. Thats why i like the current ineos model, as think even the wages of our fringe players beem disproportionat putting off clubs.
Really rashford, mount, zirkzee and personally id add dalot should be bringing in £100m easily but we cant sell two and dont want to sell the other two and they must be costing us £30m a season in wages too...business and footballing wise not justified...yet probably at best zirkzee on loan with obligation is the only exit.
Think next year a few go due to contracts....but mainly defenders, but we are pretty top heavy in attack bar true cf...see that as a problem rather than a blessing moving forward
 
Incredible the prices the players are going at and we have not managed to sell a single first team player apart from Hojlund somehow. Just so frustrating.

It’s a joke, are we making it too easy and comfortable for players to stay, do we need a yard sale, make it obvious some won’t play any minutes and need to leave?

No other teams seem to have a big a problem as use in selling players let alone for good fees.

And not all of them are on obscene wages.

I just don't understand it at all. How are we struggling to sell someone like Zirkzee in this market is beyond me. We are carrying like 10 defenders but a lot of them are not really good enough and yet we aren't moving any at all.

I said this at the start of the window, certain players should be forced to train with the academy or alone to make it clear they weren't going to be allowed to stay, and train and play with the first team. That might have got Rashford/Zirkzee/Mount and their agents to actually work and accept they're moving away.

We're clearly too much of a soft touch. SAF used to get people gone on no notice if he wanted to.

Yep, we should be selling one of Dalot or Maz and using Yoro to cover if not start at RB.

Were should be looking to sell one of MDL or Martinez in the summer if they’re both fit!

Maguire should be sold in the summer also, simply time to move on.

It's just so frustrating how there is such poor squad building at the club. We are carrying 2 average RB's who are both over 27. This summer would have been perfect to move on from one and maybe get a younger one who could develop a bit. It's also frustrating how we are nowhere near a team contending for titles and yet we don't really have the academy providing more backups at least. The club has really fecked it over the last 15 years in this regard.

It has and it’s to even that hard. We’ve had the money just spent it on shite apart from last year.
 
We seem unable to sell anyone who isnt a youth player...loan or end of contract, its ridiculous.
Seems every decent pl side bar us made big sales....weve not spent much and yet without looking bet were still one of the higher net spends...really thought wed raise £100m easy.
EVen so with our squad, witbout naming them still 2/3 board want to keep couldve raised close to that, who for me already can be from within or replaced for far less with better players.
Im really glad got baleba, wanted balde but not confideht now.
Though glad weve not overspent on some of the supposed original targets...but without another 1 maybe 2 quality additions before deadline day...as a whole, still underwhelming window

Who do we have to sell though? Rashford limited his options to Barca, no one seems to want a 9.5 that doesn't score in Zirkzee, Ugarte is injured we don't really have much else and the surplus players like Mount are on a huge wage and always injured. Are squad is pretty small really unless you're talking about selling 1st team players?

There is no chance of picking up one let alone two quality additions with only a few days left of window. Pretty damning that even someone on relatively reasonable wages can't even be sold by this club.

Disagree in terms of our squad, our side is short in terms of quality and fitness and in a couple of areas and look weak next to some other big premiership sides, but it really isn’t short in terms of numbers as much as made out. We have 2 or 3 options all through the middle bar striker, at least 3 wingers either side and two possible full backs either side…..so for me no, there is still a big clear out that maybe we are trying and failing to do….and subsequently failing to address each position needs improvement.

This has been the same story every summer for over a decade. What has improved has been our purchases over all the last few seasons, but we needed a new lb, rb, lw option and back up striker and arguably a cb……we could have done most of that relatively cheaply, especially net spend wise with a few other sales…..this defensive rebuild will move on to next summer, just like our midfield rebuild moved on to this summer. Literally 3 seasons to rebuild a side which we could EASILY have done in two summers
 
We really needed an upgrade in quality and not quantity in so many places in the squad. We just are unable to get rid of some & dither too much with others.
We have 2 right backs who are both bang average so we needed to pick one(Dalot imo ) and try to sell the other. Mazaroui is 28 and played in the world cup so probably would have had some suitors. He will probably not play much this season and then no one will want him next year. Same thing with Centre backs, just pick ones you really fancy and then try to get rid of the ones you can. Martinez would have been a great choice to sell this summer. He is always injured and his value would have been decent after the world cup. Spurs moved on from Romero before we moved on from Martinez.
 
None of Mazraoui, Maguire, Shaw, Martinez, Ugarte, Mount, Zirkzee or Rashford should still be at the club in 2 years time.

Realistically how can you replace them all if they end up leaving for nothing or very small fees. We have to break the cycle of players being kept on and signing new contracts but it is a lot of players to replace when you factor in existing issues, new problems that will develop and Bruno’s age.
 
I think we’ve been broadly unlucky with selling players. Shame Rashford to Barca didn’t happen; he doesn’t want the alternatives like Saudi. Ugarte got crocked. Zirkzee would fetch £40m if selling domestically, but no one he’d go to in the Premier League want him. That leaves the broke Italian clubs. That’s £75-100m we could’ve got that’s not there. That’s Lewis Hall and a squad player forward.

Where INEOS have massively improved things is in the bits and bobs. Selling academy players, getting good sell on fees. We’ve banked a decent amount on the latter this summer and that looks like it could well continue into future summers.

I'm sorry but we haven't been unlucky at all. We agree contracts with players that make them too comfortable and hard to move on, we don't do enough to get them out as we want to try and get a few extra mil from the deal... we fail to do that and agree to late loan deals.

I also don't think INEOS have been 'better' in a meaningful way, they have been 'different'. I look at our squad, the pace they improve it compared to the need and rivals, I feel we are mover further away from the top rather than closer. The last two seasons are red herrings, one was disterous and a drastic underperformance, the other was a league finish that overachieved the eyetest and was primarily down to playing fewer games than rivals in the second half of the season.
