The club treating loyal fans like sh*t again

To be honest, just because they're up for that price, doesn't mean they're selling at that price - probably trying to jump on the back of the World Cup pricing.

They weren't touting, they were in some cases helping people who were crap with technology sort their tickets out. This wasn't touting and it might have been technically in breach of the rules but it's a terrible way to treat your fans. My gripe is only over the away ticket things tbh in a selfish way since it personally impacts my chances of getting away tickets… because of the massive over subscription in the ballots that has gotten a lot worse over the years.

To be clear, I don’t support the club banning fans like they have. There are better things the club could do to fix the away ticket issues I have by sorting their own rules. It’s shocking how they can throw bans at these fans and if they wanted to target actual touts… buy the tickets they are selling at inflated prices and ban the original ticket holder. But they never do. Probably becuase it costs money and they are all about cost savings.

Fair enough. There isn't really a completely fair way to allocate away tickets. Aside from maybe having a collection system like we used to for Euro aways (but I can imagine that's difficult due to most clubs having digital ticketing systems now). Perhaps a points system could work rather than a "random" ballot. Maybe a league wide ticketing app aswell..

I'd argue the club has known for years who the biggest notorious touts are. Most fans probably know them aswell but the touts themselves are also probably loaded and represent the type of fan they actually want in the ground.
 
You know for all the talks of FIFA ruining football etc, all the FAs and the clubs themselves have allowed us to get to a point where fans are now paying potentially hundreds of pounds for ordinary seats within the ground.

This part sounds like they are treating regular season ticket holders okay, but are screwing over those that are making a pilmigramage to Old Trafford.

They're screwing over all members tbf because "ordinary" tickets that would have been sold for face value £50-£70ish are now being sold for 4x that but they know that once a season reds might pay it.

Agree that the away tickets need to be sorted out. Since most tickets are now digital this should be very easy, and I expect people are using burner phones to get round this too.
 
The club changed to unlimited forwarding on away tickets, that's partly the reason for the increase in away applications. They did that without consultation.

Manchester United have admitted they underestimated how many fans shared account details before launching their ticket touting investigation and that it has caused "distress" to some fans.

United began the process last month, having identified a number of accounts they said had activity which warranted further investigation.

According to the club, in one instance, 1,088 accounts had been accessed on a single device.

However, it soon became clear a number of genuine fans were left fearing they were going to have their season tickets confiscated without knowing why.

United defended their actions in private but, after a fans forum on 30 July in which concerns were outlined, have now accepted they made mistakes in how they chose to execute their investigation.

"Manchester United accepts that the process may have caused distress for some loyal supporters, underestimated how common sharing account usernames and passwords was, and recognises that some fans may have felt they were being treated unfairly," the club said., external

I guess this is as close to an apology as we are likely to get from the club - I think they have genuinely learned a lot about how fans actually use the new eticketing system

Many appeals have been successful but still there are many waiting to hear if their ST is reinstated so it's not over yet

The season starts in two weeks!

Taken them weeks to come up with some guff about 'listening' with zero action points in there that we did not already know?

Know numerous people now waiting on a THIRD at best semi shady appeals process with no deadline,
 
season ticket holders who are serious about supporting the club should purchase a replica shirt from the club shop on every second trip to the stadium. this allows them to keep their precious season ticket, whilst also allowing the club to maximise revenue from their ticket, which could have been sold to a day tripper, who would have definitely purchased something from the megastore.

the shirt could be resold on vinted for a modest loss.
