The effect of United influencers on the fan base

Most of these are the equivalent of toilet humour too me.
I do check some of them whilst working in the week just as background noise but not for advice.
People like Flex Saeed and Rantz are simply looking for viral content to make coin.

On the other side though, Sam at UPTV does stellar daily content and has built a great community.
Semeex has some incredible tactical analysis and also uses game footage and MattyFC is always positive and good for a laugh.

I think it depends on where you see the direction the club is going.
The more negative minded will gravitate towards Goldbridge Flex types.
I even started watching the LFC reactions mainly due to their recent form but may have to avoid that seeing as though "they're back".

I saw Howson on the Rio podcast trying to explain something tactically about a midfield to Rio fecking Ferdinand. Rio likes him clearly so just let him waffle on but Jesus the arrogance.

i seen one a while back where Howson done a big tactical breakdown, then Rio said 'no what happened is this...'

What did I just listen to. Probably the dumbest bunch on the internet! I hope people block these idiots so that they don't have listen to this non-sense ever again. what the actual fcuk! These people have 'followers'.

And the most misleading post of the year goes to….
Watched about five minutes and it doesn’t merit any of what you just said to be honest. They’re talking about how Forest will be different under Dyche and then go on to talk about Red cards and momentum.

A strange video to post to try and make the point you were seemingly trying to make.

Flex is the worst, complete Talksport sellout. Don’t even get me started on that joker Di Cesare either
Flex going full flip flop and running off to Talksport and Sky has started to backfire.

Every video he does now is littered with comments about how he ran to these media outlets to slag off the manager.

Ever since his channel won that award he's gone full prima donna and its not helping the channel imo.

Where has KG gone ?, he was a massive part of that channel and he's not been on apparently and I saw him on some new channel that he seems to have created.

Just don't get what Howson brings to any of the channels he frequents. Just comes across as a bit of an oaf.

Goldbridge is quite entertaining / watchable at times but there's sponges in my kitchen draw with more football knowledge

Yeah I really like Stretford Paddock (mainly for Jay Motty and Joe) but I’d say I skip a good 90% of the videos Howson is in.

Are you one of them?

Angelina Kelly is also another Talksport sellout, used to respect her but those days are long gone. Yes the likes of Joe and Jay do match previews on the station but certainly didn't sell their soul like Flex and Angelina sadly did.

He’s literally an actor rinsing United fans for ad revenue off YouTube.

Pretty much this. Although I will say he’s got more personality going than the horde of Twitter accounts who have ridden his coattails, because all they do is regurgitate memes at each other and at some points I’m fairly certain it’s some kind of dead internet theory where the same 3-4 people holding 20 of these accounts and banter eachother.

Yeah and the whole bragging about texting Rio during the game I found very nauseating too

Personality that is so OTT, thankfully many of his supporters are actually opposition ones

Maybe KG has had enough of him too

I'd watch some Stretford Paddock, mostly their podcast every Monday. 'The Brew' with Howson isn't too bad mostly because its talking about everything other than football.

But if some fans let so called influencers influence their opinion they need to take a look at themselves.

Yeah such a distraction we really don't need
Is it really though? I mean he’s been doing it over a year and we’ve only just managed to even win two games in a row.

It only caught proper traction because it was close for the very first time. I’d be very surprised if we get near five in a row again:

Very certain nobody within the dressing room is being affected by it. Of course they’ll all be aware of it but it isn’t personal to them so don’t expect it to cause issues.

Three games in a row.

It is naive stupidity but thats my take. Or he is just doing it to get attention and/or followers for his own personal benefit. Also five is a random number- we are not fighting for the league this season and you don't need to win five in a row to accomplish what we want to accomplish this season which is CL finish at best. Mathematically even if you win every other game you play in the league, you finish with 57 points.

He’s a bit of a bad egg that Howson isn’t he? I’ve read a few not so great things about him.

The influencers are a problem, if we are talking about Neville, Keane, etc as influencers. It's like the 90s with all the ex Liverpool players, none of them were helpful to Liverpool as they couldn't get over their own importantance to the glory days. Now that was funny in the 90s. Present day ex man utd players doing exactly the same thing is far less funny and most certainly not helpful!

The only people who are invested in that haircut guy are a demographic of terminally online social media fans. Literally no-one else cares outside of that. It’s a bunch of people regurgitating shit, overplayed memes for interactions.

When did United fans become so thin skinned, espeiclly on The Caf?

People cant stop moaning about other people's opinions or actions.

The guy with the hair, Mark Goldbridge or Gary Neville have no impact on United's performances.

We seem to think that a few comments from pundits have an effect on players - the same players who have played hundreds of games, in front of huge, sometime hostile crowds. Do people really think that if they can play in front of 60k screaming scousers at Anfield, then they are that worried about a few comments from a YouTuber or a TV pundit?

If people genuinely think things are getting impacted on the pitch by the bloke who needs a haircut then we’re in a much bigger hole than I ever realised. It’s purely just riling up fans, calling it a distraction we don’t need is bonkers stuff.

It got media coverage therefor has some sort of influence. It also focuses the attention on the results in a slightly negative way (For example WWWWDWWWWD could be seen as fails as their were not 5 wins in a row).

In the end it shouldn't matter and with good results and performances a lot of the negativity should hopefully go away.

I see the constant and over the top bashing of certain players by some of those Influencers more problematic than a guy with a bad hair cut.

The only thing I'm slightly concerned about is if the club or players start participating in it, because that would signal that five straight wins is some kind of massive milestone worthy of celebration. Beyond that, it's just fan banter - not something that can be controlled.

McKola really annoys me on the Overlap. Thinks he's way more knowledgable than he is.
