Very happy for him. Good to hear he's showing a great attitude, certainly has some ability.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this here or if anyone is interested. But I have looked up all the former United youth products who are born 1985-2000 and what they are doing now. Also some interviews. Here's my first post, about the 1985 gang with an interview with Phil Picken. He talks about why no footballers are coming out as gay, about agents, about City's interest in him, how good Rossi was and much more. Can be read here: https://manutdungdom.blogg.se/2019/april/unitedprodukterna-fodda-1985-vad-hande-sen.html hope you youth nerds enjoy it! Nothing fancy.
Wrote about the players born in 1986. Also, an interview with Tommy Lee so a lot of questions about goalkeepers: https://manutdungdom.blogg.se/2019/april/unitedprodukterna-fodda-1986-vad-hande-sen.html

Nice work, enjoyed reading it, even though it had to be Google-translated. Why is the text duplicated in the same page though?
Thanks. I'm not sure I follow what you mean? It's in Swedish and English. If you just scroll down you get the English version.

Oh silly me! I saw the Swedish text first, so I allowed my Chrome browser to auto-translate the page into English. My bad.

And here is the article about players born in 1987. Also interviews with Aaron Burns and Jami Pusstinen who talks about how Cristiano Ronaldo was unique in his training, Finnish football, regrets in their career and much more. No interview this time (talked a bit with Sam Hewson but he didn't seem to have the time to do an interview) well worth the read anyway I hope. Like, what do Kieran Lee do nowadays, the man who scored the winner in a League Cup-game? https://manutdungdom.blogg.se/2019/june/unitedprodukterna-fodda-1988-vad-hande-sen-2.html …

Just noticed Evandro Brandão on the bench for Angola. Nice to see he's still knocking around at some level, thought he'd dropped out of the game years back

What do people make of Chris Eagles's career trajectory ?

He managed to make a few appearances for United then played for Watford, Sheffield Wednesday,Burnley, Bolton, Blackpool and Charlton, among other less known clubs. Quite a good career at championship level i'd say

Wonder why he didn't really get more opportunities at United, given that players like Quinton Fortune, Djemba Djemba and David Bellion got quite alot of appearances.

If he had been a couple of years older then he might have, unfortunately he was very slight when those players mentioned were getting their starts and when he started filling out a bit he was coming into a team that was becoming a major concern in Europe again, it was the smart decision to move him out.

Getting shot of Rossi on the other hand …

United was in a bit of a transition time between 2003 and 2006 right ? Can't remember about too many youngsters who made a full impact back then

Not many were that highly touted to be fair. Pique, Rossi, Fletcher and O'Shea are obviously the stand outs along with Kieran Richardson to a lesser extent.

The Eckersley's were about then, Phil Bardsley had a couple run outs, Johnny Spector did as well. Kieran Lee and Ritchie Jones saw cup games.

The two talents that were hot shit on this site around that whole time were Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and David Jones, the latter had a very good loan in Holland but never really was ever going to make the grade, the same can be said of the former

The groups that bothered the first team after them that had the likes of Danny Simpson, Frazier Campbell, Welbeck, Matty James et al always seemed to be a level or two above that 03-06 period.

Rossi was very highly rated around the club from what I understand,a shame he wasn't given more games.

Perhaps the one who had the biggest impact in recent years was Macheda, as that Villa goal was BIG for the title race, but for some reason he faded away after that

I also remember the two brothers Rafael and Fabio, they went straight into the first team and seemed to have more of Ferguson's trust than others.

Does anyone know what happens with Ravel Morrison? Signed a deal with Blades and not even in squad list since.
Played a behind closed doors friendly against us yesterday at Carrington apparently.

Josh Harrop's first Championship start for almost 11 months after his cruciate ligament injury, scored for Preston against Stoke.

After all the summer transfers, the former United youth/reserves currently playing in the Championship are:

Middlesbrough - McNair, Ashley Fletcher

Preston - Harrop, Ben Pearson

Blackburn - Joe Rothwell, Corry Evans

West Brom - Sam Johnstone

Charlton - Ben Amos

Luton - Ryan Tunnicliffe

Huddersfield - Fraizer Campbell

Sheff Wed - Kieran Lee

Derby - Tom Lawrence

Reading - Blackett

Stoke - Shawcross, (also Nick Powell and Mame Diouf, who may, or may not, meet criteria)

Should be reasonably fit because he has played football this spring and summer in Sweden. But based on his performances there it comes as no surprise that he can't get a game at Sheffield United.

New season same old Pearson, wonder how many suspensions he'll pick up this time, pretty sure he's already on two yellows. Harrop looked quite good tonight, be interesting to see how he gets on, with Robinson's departure there's a bit of an attacking quality vacum at North End so plenty of opportunity to cement his position in the team.

He was riddled with injuries while he was there and was suffering severe dental issues which was stopping him from training so you have no clue what his fitness will be like.

Will his mum's decision have the desired impact ?

He missed 12 Championship games through suspension last season and one FA Cup match. 4 Championship games the previous season and 6 the season before. In each of the last 3 seasons he's picked up 14 yellow cards in the Championship. He'd avoided picking up red cards until the last couple of seasons.

It was quite amusing at first but it's become a bit of a joke now, he's a good player but North End fans are getting sick of him being constantly suspended. After Calum Robinson he was arguably their best player over the last few years, but you can't be considered the best if you're never on the pitch. He needs to sort out his aggression if he harbours hopes of playing PL football one day, I don't think a PL club would stand for his disciplinary issues, if he could tone it down he'll end up in the PL IMO.

I said he would be reasonably fit because they were in season and he played in several games. Sore spot.
